This game could prove to be a good prediction for our future because if you look at it from a purely objective point of view then it should be nothing less than a City win. I know we are down several first team selections but apparently Rotherham are in an even worse position and the statistics, based on injury situations, should point the 3 points in our direction, unless we fail to turn up. For many reasons we should get maximum points later this evening but a loss would indicate to me that we are not fully prepared enough to keep up a challenge throughout the rest of the season unless the players currently on the treatment table can come back and add some more bite to our bark.
Rubbish performances against Wigan and now Rotherham.Funny how the two performances with Fammy upfront looks a total wast of time. 4 games now without a win.Looking downwards not upwards.
All reports on the game that I have read state the team improved no end when Matt Taylor came on, they are hyper ventilating about him on OTIB.
I was there and Taylor definitely improved our performance when he came on. Dire in the first half, couldn't pass the ball with any accuracy and it was crying out for someone to put their foot on the ball and play to feet. Much better in the second half. Didn't deserve to win but could have come away with all the points with a better final ball.
He still didn’t score though, if he could start scoring some goals he’d force LJ’s hand , because right now I fear that’s ultimately what’s keeping him out of the starting line up , he goal scoring record since joining us , is to say the least, poor.
No, he didn't but then neither did Weiman or Fammy and I don't know how Watkins missed, it was easier to score than hit the post. This was one of those games where we didn't deserve to win but could have done anyway. Game gone now though, retained our 10th place and on to Sunday.
Not saying it was all Taylor (although he has far more impact coming off the bench than he ever does when he starts) but following it on the BBC website there was a definite improvement after the subs. On 58 mins we had 1 attempt at goal, and ended with 11, only 3 on target though.... Maybe try Taylor and Fammy against Sheff Weds as AW goals have dried up.
The other 3 you mentioned all have good goals per game ratios though , unlike MT, he does affect the game when he plays but doesn’t score enough, If he could improve his goal scoring he would be a real asset , I personally hope he will because I like him , whilst he doesn’t though. others will , rightly, be ahead of him in the pecking order.
