Away on a Tuesday night at Rotherham, Fug me it is bleak on a summers day...let alone freezing your off, waiting for a city goal! Masky has been to Rotherham in midweek, not for football but other things....hmmmm leave it at that!! However, that old Russian hymn comes forth in the memory thus: “She was a big fat cow twice the size of me hairs on her fanny like the branches of a tree!” Now Masky is not certain that they are the authentic lyrics, so be careful where you sing it pals! Okay 3-2 city, with Ivanhoe keeping up his run! Incidentally, not taking any calls from Gary Madine, keeps pestering me to put in a good word....enough I say! Clingon, can you pass on your number please?
it's a bleak old sh+thouse up there Masky, nearly as bad as Merthyr and 'Pandy (no offence) Zipwire for hire
Hi Robbie It was actually a dry ski slope at Pentrebach to the south of Merthyr. Built around 32 years ago. Went bust very quickly. The locals kept pinching chunks of the slope to "improve" their gardens. Better than burnt out cars and old fridges and mattresses I suppose. There has been some talk in recent years about building an adventure park including a ski slope in the Merthyr area. They never learn do they? Millions got wasted a few years ago when someone wanted to build a full on car race track in the Ebbw Vale area with delusions of holding F1 there.
I beg to differ....it was an actual wet ski slope with technology to make artificial snow....apparently it would work up to +6. Made half a slope once I recall during testing. Locals kept nicking the nozzles of the sprays!!! We were asked to invest 50,000 hard-earned.....we politely declined.
I'm glad I'm such a nice bloke. Otherwise I might be tempted to suggest that there's a slippery slope at Ashton Gate. But I've got friends over there so I won't insult them. Away from the Piste (and let's face it, we haven't been out on it for ages), this game against the Millers is a significant test for MM. Rotherham are certainly bursting away from the relegation zone and scoring a few goals (when they play). They're likely to throw more at us that our last rivals but hopefully MM has done his homework and has come up with a workable plan. C'mon City.
I think we will win a dirty one niller over the Millers. Can remember attending lower league games at their old ground. Always a grim old night out that.
With regards to a grim night out Ronny, been out eith BFB have you? Stories I Could Tell novel for sale....cheap as chips!
Just seen family photos from today, taken about 30 miles to the north of Rotherham albeit out in the countryside, 6+ inches deep. If they have had snow like that at Rotherham, no chance of playing tonight.
Well they put this up on their club board about 2.30pm today.............. https://www.themillers.co.uk/news/2021/february/read--reminder-of-7pm-kick-off-for-cardiff-fixture/
....also Colwill won't be figuring tonight either - another good win for the under 23's this afters............. https://www.cu-fc.com/news/2021/february/u23s-cardiff-report/
Another good win for the Under 23's. Rotherham keeping their cards close to their chest up to the ref I guess. Bloody freezing in Bridgend. Not that it is relevant to up't north.
Ref is Geoff Eltringham. From County Durham so a bit of wind and snow won't bother him. Not seen him in the league recently. He did the 2.2 home cup draw v Carlisle and our 2.0 defeat to Fulham in the home play off last season. Can't recall much as we were hoist by our own petard (a not much used phrase on here) against Fulham. He did another cup win, very rare, against Mansfield. League wise he did a 1.0 win by us at Burton, a 2.0 home defeat by Derby and a 3.1 loss at Villa. All in all a mixed bag. I can think of anything particularly adverse but if Ninian reads this I'm sure he will recall something about him.
I’ve hoisted a half hard a number of times, or a lazy lob in football parlance....wanna look at it? Rotherham football orgramme for Sale 1962.....6d!
Hey BfB. My only gripe was he buying that dive by that Fulham bloke leading to their injury time goal which at the end of the day was the difference between the two sides over the two legs
