Chelsea bench-warmer Ross Turnbull has a free agent after four seasons and seven appearances for Chelsea.

He'll probably be rusty, but I reckon he'd be worth a punt. He's 28, so he's not young, but he's still young for a keeper and I reckon he'd jump at the chance of consistent first-team football. I also can't see many Championship teams wanting to take a punt on him since he's not played first-team football since Middlesbrough were in the Premier League.

Finally, he must have picked something up after shadowing Petr Cech for so long. I mean, for **** sake, we thought Gerken was going to get better by shadowing the mighty David James. Turnbull could be our redemption.

We're perceived as a team looking towards promotion this season, so I reckon he'd be a good signal of intent.

Would be a good signing I agree but I do reckon championship teams, Even premier league teams will take him up. Plus being on Chelsea wages for a long time would he want to come here where he would be on less then 4k

True, although I can't see anyone offering him huge wages when he's effectively played just over one game a season for the past 4-5 seasons. He's a Championship quality keeper, but we're looking to be a Championship quality team, so it could work out if we offer him a trial.

Possibly a good shout and perhaps he's fed up with bench warming and needs to find a new home where he can play regularly. Who knows?

Now Lee Camp and Basso are being mooted as playing for contracts in the preseason games if so they are in competition as only one of them will get one. That is if Lee Camp has been released by Norwich he signed for them in Jan this year and has played 3 games. I for one would love us to sign someone like Camp who needs regular football to get his place in the Northern Ireland team back.

Lee Camp would be a great signing, Turnbull would be too but I expect he earned more in a week at Chelsea than we would offer him. I don't think that the fact that he hasn't played first team football means that he has lost anything, and infact, he should have improved and I expect he will easily find a championship side.
