Given the all round fans reaction to Woottons performance, and Wootton the player, Rosler will not do himself any favours by mimicking Redders syndrome.

From what I've read, both on here and on media articles, Wootton played a blinder at not playing very well.

The time for experimenting is over Mr Rosler, we have other senior players who deserve to show what they're worth, and probably do a better job.

Parts of Wooten's performance were good, & parts not so. That said, Thursday was an opportunity for players to get game time. Disappointing that we lost as a result of overcooking (geddit!!), & a mistimed tackle. But we shouldn't read too much into it. Me thinks that Cook aside, the normal 1st XI will start tomorrow. Don't think Murphy will start, as Rosler won't want to risk another injury. But I suspect he'll come on for a fair chunk of the 2nd half.

Tomorrow is all about improving on last Saturday, developing the style of play with balls being played out wide to Byram and Dallas for them to feed Antenucci & Wood. Will be a tough game & I'd take a draw. But I think we might just nick it

All Wootton's performance proves is that it is unbelievable that we still haven't signed a specialised holding midfield player. No point blaming Wootton, it's clear to anyone he's a CB and should only be played at CB. Rosler has limited options, so is entitled to try things out in games that are essentially inconsequential, but you'd have liked to think he would've been perceptive enough to see in training that Wootton is no midfielder. With Bianchi and Murphy still off full fitness and Sloth seemingly out of favour, how we haven't brought in another midfield player defies belief, even if Phillips is waiting in the wings.

Good points well made Kiwi. We have one guy on a season long lone. So not sure why he couldn't play as a DM on Thursday. But I fully expect him to play tomorrow. I also wouldn't be too surprised to learn that we have a loan to buy scenario. But for now, I think we need cover in that area. Sloth certainly isn't it. And after Thursday, not sure that Wooten is it either. One possibility is that Wooten returns to CB & Bamba plays as DM. Just a thought

I don't think Wootton was the only substandard player vs Doncaster anyway. Doukara in particular was appalling. Mowatt was next to anonymous, Dallas was exceptionally quiet, Antenucci was poor. Wood added nothing when he came on. Most of those players will play a much bigger first team role than Wootton this season - I'd be more concerned about their performances.

I think Adeyemi is on a loan to buy contract, but from what little I've read/seen, he's more a box-to-box player like Austin than a holding player like a Brown. We need more Championship experience or nous too - the inexperience showed against Burnley when we couldn't maintain the lead for even three minutes, and if we'd had an experienced head in the midfield to calm down the youngsters vs Doncaster after the red card we would've won, because Doncaster were every bit as poor as we were and that was with an extra man.

Adeyemi is both a DM and a box-to-box player. When we play 4-1-2-3, he is very disciplined in the DM role. When we move to 4-2-1-3, he maintains that disipline, but when the opportunity presents itself, he takes the ball forward, safe in the knowledge that the other DM has got his back. I'm looking forward to him & Murphy playing well together.

I'll take your word for it and hope he proves himself to be as good as you think he'll be <ok> Still don't understand why we haven't signed a second one though - what happens if he gets injured or suspended? Unless Rosler thinks Phillips is ready?

Rosler is impressed by Phillips, but "he still needs to learn the game".

The article's title literally states Wootton played in midfield. All of last season he played RB. He hasn't played CB for Leeds since McDermott was here.
I agree with you: he isn't the greatest player, but it would probably help him enormously if we had a management team who played players in their correct positions, or alternatively an owner who didn't force his manager into making such ridiculous choices through a lack of options. Give Rosler the funds to sign a holding midfielder and we won't have to see Wootton ever try and play there again.

Judging from Thursday, so do the rest of the team <doh>
Still think an experienced Championship midfield player is going to be essential.

After Thursday's game perhaps it's Rosler that needs to learn the game, or is that what wj meant.
