Amateur I’m not going to listen at all, but still analyse what I think I might have heard if I did listen.
You can hear the extensive media training in his voice, and he also has done extensive preparation for tonight's show.
Certainly some media training but he seems to be his own man. From his initial motivation speech to the players to every time he appears on the media he responds easily and is confident in his approach. From a tactical perspective TWT is his approach is successful
Should be on the BBC sounds website or app at the following link:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0fywnt8
1000% agree with this…love the bloke but I’m not keen on his tactics….just got to give him time I guess & hope he has the intelligence to change tactics if it’s not working after 6 games or so…..
Second guessing Blunder...Burns has gone walkabout forever. Shame, but eh those are the breaks. Good interview. If Rosies positivity is transferred onto the pitch we'll be home and hosed by the start of April.
The annoying thing about these Sportstalk specials is there's so much bloody filler. You've got Rosenior for an hour, but it must be about half of that time that's taken up by having the presenter tell us and remind us again what the show is, giving the contact details to contribute and going over that again and again. Let him talk! It's like they're trying to minimise the amount of actual content for some reason. I remember it was the same when I did Sportstalk as a HCST representative years ago, we barely had time to talk about anything between all the segments and intros and reintros. Considering it's the BBC with no advertising pressures I can't understand why they're so keen to break it up.
I spoke to Burnsy a few weeks ago. He seemed unsure whether they'd ask him back as a freelancer (and seemed pretty dispirited by it all) but he also mentioned that they definitely couldn't legally use him for the next few months, as Mike White confirmed this evening.
I thought Liam came across as usual very well, answered all the question as honestly as he was able, I felt. On style of play it is work in progress, as he put it we are page 2 out of a 100, so I am sure slowly, but surely, we will get better particularly at the top end.
I thought that's what he said, but wasn't sure if I'd heard right. Well, tbf, it often times looks it! So, at this rate, we should get at least somewhere near to achieving this style of play in another 40+ seasons time?!? Or does he envisage exponential progress with his process? Don't we need a style that we can execute near 100% already this season, or at least next? Also could be taken as making him sound very arrogant, that he somehow has this special, magic formula. Hmmn. Sorry, passionate & articulate, but still not convinced.
TWT, at least we have an identity and the players are clear what they need to do, they just have to execute it now. When you are not spending big money, it does take time to knit a squad together, and I think we are starting to look stronger than last season. I, for one, will be happy if we finish 10th or above, that will be progress, and if you get the rub of the green with results, injuries and how other teams do, then maybe sneak into the playoff's.
