Rosenior junior is in line for his full home debut for the Seagulls today against the club he helped back into the Premier League and to an FA Cup final before heading south in the summer. The 31-year-old utility player is poised to keep his place on the right side of midfield after making his first league start in the win at Ipswich a fortnight ago. His father Leroy, who advised him to sign for Albion, said: “It will be a special game. He enjoyed his time up at Hull immensely. “Liam is a really good professional. I managed him when he was at Bristol City and Torquay United, taking him on loan from Fulham. “He’s not just a good footballer, I think he’s an excellent defender and doesn’t get the credit for being as good a defender as he is but he is also very good around other people and brings out the best in them. “He is one of those players that might go unnoticed but he makes other players look good by giving them the right pass, encouraging them.” Rosenior senior, a team-mate of Albion boss Chris Hughton at West Ham, recommended the move to the Amex rather than staying in the Premier League when promoted Bournemouth were among the clubs interested in securing his son’s services. The former striker turned pundit said: “I just felt Liam needed to go somewhere where he would be appreciated. http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/13715982.Why_Rosenior_is_Hull_s_loss__Albion_s_gain/?
Oh dear Stanley what a load of wimps footballers are these days along with Manchester City's Yaya Toure spitting his dummy our because they forgot his birthday what a joke. Did you ever feel wanted at work? No me either building sites were not known for being human friendly I was a number just like most workers I find all this 'not appreciated' stuff pure bile inducing.
I totally agree with this, Liam was not only great on the pitch but also a good ambassador off it and with the youth set up. Was very sorry to see him go!
While you're obviously right about the sort of thing the Toure incident typifies, I think you're off the mark in connecting Rosenior to this. When his dad said "appreciated", it was clearly football-speak for "get selected to play", and after a few years of not being picked by a manager it's perfectly natural to want to move on elsewhere. He just wants to do his job, he didn't complain when he was here and out of the team, and he's worth his weight in gold compared to players who just collect a wage without caring about doing a good job.
Someone put he did the other day! However why would we offer him a contract when we assumed we'd still be in the PL & not offer him one when we know we aren't & knowing how good a player he is at this level? Unless the Odubajo deal was there in their minds?
Yeah I read that the other day, but didn't know if it was true, my point was why then & not at the end when we were in the Championship? Was it the Moses deal or was it he'd already said he wouldn't sign no matter what?
Yeah, cos being a professional footballer is just like being a building worker, isn't it? What a daft comment.
