Tottenham loanee Rose already setting sights on permanent deal at Sunderland Just two days after making his debut for the club Danny Rose is already talking about making his loan switch to Sunderland a permanent move. The England Under-21 international has linked up with Martin O'Neill's Black Cats for the season having found first-team chances hard to come by at parent club Tottenham. And although Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has not closed the door on a return for Rose, the left-back-cum-winger has told the Sunderland Echo that he would like to remain in on Wearside. Debut: Rose sees Liverpool's Raheem Sterling climb on his back on Saturday 'If there was a chance that I could move here permanently, Iâd snatch it with both hands,' said the 22-year-old. 'Nothing has been said of that kind. Iâm just here on loan for the season and anything after that would be a bonus. 'The gaffer just asked me to come here on loan and said Iâd play more games here than I would at Spurs which is right. 'Iâve just got to take it game by game and see where it takes me. 'I had interest from a couple of clubs, but once I saw the signings that Sunderland had made, it was a no-brainer and with being closer to my family as well, that helps. 'Adam Johnson has come from Man City. He could have gone to a host of Premier League clubs, but he came here. 'Louis Saha I was with last season and they paid big money for Steven Fletcher. It just shows Sunderlandâs intent for the season.' well he will have to be outstanding if he wants that too happen, time will tell
depends on the price, but if he wasn't too dear i'd happily sign a young, english player who is happy playing left back... he can double up on the wing too. thought he looked canny at the weekend, only time he ****ed up was for their goal, and he claims he'd tweaked his groin moments before. that sterling's gonna be some player too, he'll make a fool of better left backs than rose this season imo.
Bit early, perhaps. But then the mags were saying that Ben Arfa was "world class" after they'd only had him for a few games before his season-ending injury and it turns out they weren't wrong, after all!
I really like Rose and he seems to have a good attitude. He could be useful going forward as well as defensively, he was very impressive for Britain at the Olympics IMO. Time will tell, but I have a feeling he'd make a solid permanent addition to the squad.
Does anybody know where the lad comes from ?...I ask because in one article a few days ago when he was saying he would like to remain with us...the comment 'to be closer to his family' was mentioned.
Can play LW or LB, the lad seems to have a good attitude & is still very young. Anyone know how long he has left on his contract with Spurs?
If nothing else, it's good to hear the lads happy to be at the club. He showed enough against 'Pool to suggest he can be a very decent addition, I'd suggest the smart money would be on finalizing in January if he looks the part, as a young English lad who can play all down the left will appeal to others if he has a good season.
You love hearing players saying things like this about Sunderland - and we also, as Sunderland fans, like a LEFT BACK playing at LEFT BACK!! Nice one son - haven't seen enough to give a complete opinion yet but the England game last week he was awesome so looking good for the future
Did you here what the Arsenal keeper Mannone (sp?) said about his time on loan to Hull??? He said something to the effect of no one wants to be here/go there.
It was in last night's London Standard. Said he didn't want to go, but liked it when he arrived, plus he got 24 straight starts which helped him immensely.
As to the OP. YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Always liked the lad. I thought he did really well the other day, apart from the time of the goal, when he got beat by a top piece of skill that would have done most top LBs tbf. He looks like he could actually do the job that some claimed Ricco was good at. IE. Blasting up the wing from LB.
