I am surprised, I would have thought that would have been up held as he took a deliberate kick at the guy.

I figured this would be the case.

UEFA want all of the big names playing. This should actually be a great Euro's. I don't mean for England, I mean in general. Lots of good teams and great players.

I enjoy it more than the Wold Cup to be honest.

No surpise at all. At least Rooney can be used for the game that will decide Englands fate.

The Euros has no easy teams hence why its better than the World Cup. But if England do win the group then i expect them to reach the semi finals.

With hopefully Gerrard and Wilshere fully fit, Rooney wont be missed that much in the first 2 games.

Rooney, for all his faults, is the only world class player we have so this is good news. I just have a feeling he is due a big tournament in his career and this could be the one, will be to our advantage that he will be rested for the first few games. I'm just hoping that Capello has the balls to get rid of all the players who have failed us in tournaments for years and are now over the hill (Gerrard/Lampard/Terry) and we might have half a chance in this one.

Much, much better than the world cup. I always try to get to a game if possible. This time though no way.

I would say Joe Hart, Ashley Cole and Steven Gerrard are all very much world class.

Ashley Cole is actually so with you on that one Bob, Hart could be, Gerrard came close a few years back, but injuries and age have caught up with him though I'd like to be proven wrong, and the last tournament I was disappointed that he couldnt get to grips with playing left-wing/left-mid

Are Barca, Real Madrid, Milan and others engaged in a battle to sign them up?
The term world-class is bandied about a bit too easily.

Ashley Cole is just brilliant, can't think of a better left back in the world.
Real Madrid were after Gerrard not long ago, he's had some bad injuries but he's still got it as a player, brilliant all round midfielder.
Joe Hart is playing at the team that are 5 points clear at the top of the premier league, who could afford to buy any keeper they want, but they choose hime, and he's also brilliant.

It doesn't matter whos in a que to sign who, it matters about their ability and I think those 3 are all world class. Is everyone in a long que to sign David Villa or Messi? No. They must not be world class then <doh>

Milan? Seriously? As if Milan can compete financially with Chelsea! Barca and Real would both take Cole but he's not available.

The term "World Class" has no real definition. We have a lot of players who represent the 5th or 6th best national side in world football (according to the rankings) and club sides who are amongst the best 10-15 in world football. How can they not be World Class?

Agree with Bob and Theo here. It's a typical stupid English mentality to moan about our players. Every time we don't win a tournament that has 7 other top sides in it, everyone needs a reason. Usually to do with [insert star player]'s sex life or the fact that Germany have a better youth system than us.

The fact is there will be 16 teams at Euro 2012 and the chances are we won't win. I just wish everyone would go back to supporting the England team instead of all competing to see who likes them the least.
