Hi, Alfreton Utd fan in peace. I'm strictly appealing for opinions from users who actually attend the games, share a pint before and after around Old Trafford and are generally interested in debating a very violtile character in Wayne Rooney. Let me remind you of some Wayne Rooney highs and lows: Highs: A FANTASTIC hat trick V Fenerbache on his CL debut. That Newcastle volley. That Manchester City overhead kick. Countless trophies for United. Bursting onto the international scene - a revelation. Euro 2004. Lows: Rumours of him straying from his wife. Rumours of him straying from his wife. His World Cup 2010 display (allbeit in a poor team) His 2010/11 contract debacle. His temperment. The way he confronts match officials. I would love to know the true fan's opinion on Wayne Rooney. There's no doubting he's an effective player but will you ever love him in the same way you love Giggs et al? Regards Mr Nice
As a player, yes. I think besides this season he has been brilliant for us. Cant fault him really, everyone has a bad patch after all. As a man, not really.
Thanks for a sensible reply UIR. There's not enough senisble discussion on here, and when there is the MODs come in with their iron fist and spoil the fun. Out of interest - have you got a season ticket?
Iron fist?! I'll give you an iron fist...and you'll only play ã20 for the privilege... Seriously tho', when the self confessed wum is in town the sheriff always has an itchy trigger finger. And no, I don't have a season ticket before you ask. It's a long walk from Moscow.
This is a better article MrNice There was a period a couple of seasons ago when he seemed to have sorted himself out, and was rarely in trouble... He's let himself down big time since then.. But i personally don't feel his personal/ relationship issues should have any relevance to his United status. For me the allegations about his sexlife etc. are not that important, it has happened to countless footballers, but what is dissapointing is how he has reacted to the media attention.
I didn't know you worked in Moscow. You don't mention it much. Only pulling your leg. You're a nice guy.
