I have just read the sad news that Ron Tindall has passed away in Australia aged 78. He may not mean much to many on this site, but he was (Greaves apart) my first Chelsea hero and appeared in the first game I ever saw at SB. He scored 69 goals for us over 3 1/2 seasons and he was particularly good with his head. I remember one particular game against Newcastle , which we won 4-2, and all of the 6 goals were headers including a hat trick of them from Ron. He was a great cricketer too and played for Surrey. He was always allowed an early end to his season, so he could start his cricket! I never knew he was awarded the Australian equivalent of the OBE. Thanks Ron--you are up there in my top 20 Blues! Rest in peace!
