YES. That is why I have been "revising" or "swotting-up" for the last couple of months. If you listen to any of their Greatest Hits compliations, and there is about a hundred songs, and I think you will recognise many.
The tour locations are in the OP. The ticket prices for Dublin were between €70 to €181€ (but I think that this excludes the VIP sections) "The iconic band were launching the second leg of their international tour in Dublin in front of a mainly middle-aged, middle-class audience paying between €70 to €181 for the ambience, classic rock 'n' roll and the bragging rights to say they attended probably the last ever Irish gig by the Rolling Stones" Extracted from below which is a good read: https://www.independent.ie/entertai...d-rock-70000-with-stunning-show-36919496.html Further info on the tour venues and tickets: http://www.rollingstones.com/tickets/
Kiwi, l see your 10 and raise you 2 more. Hopefully, they'll come to Oz & NZ before they get too old.
I saw them play Wembley in 1990 as part of their Steel Wheels Tour, which at the time they were billing as the last chance to see the Stones live.........mind you Bill Wyman didn't move more than 2 feet the whole of the concert and I wasn't convinced that he hadn't copped it, been embalmed and wheeled out for the day
What shocked me was that a certain Daryl Jones has been playing bass with them since 1992, never heard him mentioned once. Ticket prices in Dublin were as high as €470, unsurprisingly they failed to sell out, despite intensive radio advertising right up to the day of the concert. Was good though by all accounts
Without sounding rude, it is an enigma that any of them are alive today. It would not have been a surprise with their image and life style had they joined the 27 Club, but they are jumping around stage like over-aged teenagers. Officially OAP's!!! I borrow a quote: "Yet a 76-year-old (Charlie Watts), two 74-year-olds (Jagger and Richards) and a mere 70-year-old Wood, still carry it off and create mayhem in the process." One can only envy!
Saw them about 15 years ago - were very good, but the tickets for the Edinburgh gig on this tour were overly expensive - and are now selling through re-sale outlets for over £400 for pitch standing - no-one is worth that in my opinion (unless they could resurrect Lennon and Harrison.....) Enjoy Ski
Thanks and I will! For info I got x2 seats for 395PLN each (ie 90€ or 80GBP) from the original ticket sales. So expensive, but accptable to see "The Stones". The original tickets were sold out in hours and now they are trading on the re-sale portals for at least double.
Going to the Twickenham show. Got 4 tickets when they went on sale £140 each middle tier near the royal box. Although the Who are my fav group (it's a mod thing) the Stones are the best group I have seen live.
I also wanted to buy 4 tickets, but in the amoc I could only get no more than two. I hope you enjoy it.
A quick heads-up. If you would like to see the Stones and have not yet bought a ticket, please be aware that currently "LUCKY DIP" tickets are on sale. Tickets are currently available for the London, Southampton, Coventry and Cardiff concerts in the UK at only 30 GBP. If you are interested, then I suggest you move fast as I think that they will soon disappear!!! I attach the relevent link: http://www.rollingstones.com/tickets/
Me too! You can't blame people for thinking that The Stones wouldn't be around much longer back then will all the heroin/coke/crack/booze they'd consumed. Keef was off the smack at this time but still enjoying the odd "bump" of ching. Keef's autobiography was utterly engrossing, well worth a read if you like The Stones or rock and roll music in general. How he's still alive is a mystery, maybe all the gear pickled him!
Rumour has it they were paying to regularly get complete blood transfusions to keep themselves healthy, but that's one for the conspiracy thread I reckon...
