Just saw this on LFW.....enjoy. https://rollercoasterranger.wordpress.com/2016/01/16/charlie-austin-head-held-high/
Thanks Tramore. Great read and thanks Roller in case you're reading here. Thanks again Charlie and good luck. If you do ever return in opposition to LR, you'll get an even warmer welcome than OBZ.
I sat next to Roller for many of those goals, the most memorable for me being the one against Wigan. He really is a soft old divot. But he can write with the true love of the game and the club that 'professional' writers and show offs will never get. I suggest we sponsor him to go to all QPR games and write match reports.
An excellent article on Charlie Austin's contribution at QPR. I have now formally retired the 'Jane's Great Grandson' moniker that I bestowed on him, never to pass my lips - or be typed on this message board - ever again!
Good read and watch that, many thanks. And good luck Charlie Austin. Hope we see him back in a few short years.
Roller, a great article and analysis which is enhanced by multi-media. Charlie will fondly remain in my memory as a true "goal-machine", a player with a great attitude, and a QPR "hero"! He can certainly leave with his head held high and I wish him well!
Can anyone explain to me their personal theory as to why Charlie stated, on national TV, that he was staying at QPR for the rest of the season? a) He genuinely wanted to? b) He said that so could blame the owners when they forced a sale and could inform the fans that his choice was to stay. c) He had been told he was staying then the powers that be changed their collective mind? d) He wanted torment QPR fans (I don't believe that!!). e) Some other weird, inexplicable agenda? It was very odd and actually was out of kilter when he said it because they generally do not say things like that.
