What a crazy few weeks we've just experienced! After the Fulham and Blackburn games I was thinking that things were looking extremely bleak; games against Chelsea, Spurs and City were certain to end with heavy and humiliating defeats without even a goal to cheer. But now, even though we still lost two out of three, things are looking up again. Three points from three games and four goals scored, not too mention an absolutely outstanding performance yesterday. Yes there are still things that I wish we wouldn't do (80s style kick-off for one), and critical evaluation of the team/manager should always be made, but yesterday filled me with optimism; hopefully we'll be taking the front foot from now on. Blackpool went close doing the same thing last season, hopefully we'll go one (or more) better. Things being how they are I may feel the absolute opposite after two abysmal performances against Stoke and Norwich (hopefully not though), but I guess that's what support is all about. Rollercoasters indeed!!
Yes a rollercoaster....my only worry now is that we can obviously play neat football against good teams who play good football and we will lose narrowly (or very occassionally win...QPR1 v 0Chelsea) but against those teams who are too frightened or not able to play great footy...e.g. wigan, blackburn etc...we will not be able to play flowing creative football and it will be a war of attrition which we won't win. I'm never happy
It was ever thus. There will be many ups and downs before the end of the season, and we wouldn't have it any other way. I must admit I was a litle confused as I thought you were trying to attract my attention!
