See from the training pics on the official site that Sheyi Ojo is back. That means all 6 of our loanees are eligible for selection but only 5 can be in the match day squad. With all these rumours around that Liverpool have inserted financial penalties in his deal - if he's fit, he plays or else - is he going to be an automatic choice? The noticeable absentee from the training pics is Tom Cairney. If he's out of Saturday's game that will be seven consecutive games missed. According to social media he's had a trip to warmer climes last week but isn't it time the Club came clean and told us what's happening?
We've been noticeably better without Ojo, so it will be interesting. I suspect it will be Piazon or Ojo on a game by game basis for the rest of the season (barring injuries). It's a ridiculous situation and the club is to blame for our dependence on loan signings over actual signings.
Apparently Cairney went back to Spain for some rehab! As I mentioned at the start of the season I was told that the physios and experts can find what is wrong with Cairneys knee but he isn't happy with it! I was hoping this was just mid information but the longer it goes on the more it sounds plausible! Perhaps £18 million may have been beneficial we are in danger of having rejected a bid for him only for him not to play again this season and leave for slit less in the summer! Ojo should be the one to drop out but who knows what his contract states I would be disappointed if we did have to play him.
