Reports that Rolando has fallen out with NUFC over contract negotiations and Arsenal are ready to pounce?? Anyone have any news on this? If this happens I'd be so disappointed with our management team that they have let a player of R.A. ability leave the club

    Hi Mate,
    Firstly welcome to the forum.
Normally I'd merge this thread into the other Aarons thread as they are similar but given it's your first, it seems appropriate to leave it alone.
Reference Arsenal, he's the type of player they would go for I reckon.
I think it is inevitable he'll leave in the next few years and I'd say his likely destination will be Arsenal or Liverpool.
If both go for him then hopefully as can start a bidding war of sorts.
Hopefully the club sees sense and gives the lad a decent contract.

Sorry didn't see the other Aarons thread, lazy on my behalf as I didn't check...... just wanted to vent about the potential loss of another young upcoming star! I hope the contract problems do get sorted and things do move forward positively. He has been great in pre-season and is one for the future without a doubt

No worries. He comes across as a really lovely lad off the pitch too. Off his own back he came back early for pre season and that shows some class from the lad.

It's the metro that are reporting it so take it with a pinch of salt!

    Hi Shinji, welcome!

I don't think Aarons will be leaving for either team to be honest. Probably just some smoke and mirrors from the agent while they sort out a new deal.

Also i don't think he would get enough game time at either club whereas he is almost guaranteed 20 games here this season (if he can keep himself fit). Anyone who watched the Emirates Cup over the weekend will know Arsenal have youth talent coming out of the ying yang atm and the bin dippers have Jordan Ibe who i think they will see as a like for like with Aarons (Young English winger who looks like they can make the grade)

You shouldn't be panicking no matter what.

No team can speak to him until 6 months before his contract expires. Until then I presume he's on peanuts so it would be better to reject any lowball offers and see how he gets on. One season of good footy and he'll be offered the chance at a far better club than those two ****wrecks where he'd win **** all.

I think your owner will secure this one personally, he's not going to like reading stories of him being ripped off, he is usually the ripper offerer

I thought if its an english club to an english club then technically they cant talk to him until his contract runs out. Its only when your negotiating with a player from a foreign league that you can make an agreement 6 months prior to contract expiry?

I'm only of that opinion because of Football Manager though.

NUFC need to pull their finger out and give him a decent contract, i dont care if he turns out to be the next Shane Ferguson, I'd be confident and willing to bet he wont be

Yeah, you're probably right. If he's as good as you're all making out maybe a Euro giant will pop up for him.

Liverpool is a graveyard for young players though, only Sterling has developed there and he wanted out at the earliest opportunity. Make no mistake about it, we will be in for him if he turns out to be the next big thing, Jumping at the chance of Arsenal or Liverpool now, considering arsenal are overstocked in his position, is career suicide.

I was always under the impression his contract ran to the end of this season with an option for a further year?

Regardless this sounds a lot like agent bluff. As we saw with Sterling though these guys can influence these situations. The best bet is to sign another 2 or 3 quality players, show him we mean business, put a good offer to him and go from there. It is inevitable if he reaches the level I expect he will that he will end up somewhere else, that is the reality for Newcastle United.

No need to panic, we just need to get a contract sorted if possible.

    Thanks for the welcome G4rdToonArmy!

Haha yes in fairness it is the Metro reporting this so I agree that it is hardly the most credible source of information. But living in London and having friends who are Arsenal fans, a lot of them seem to agree that they already have a lot of young bright prospects therefore making a bid for Aarons wouldn't make any sense right now. 1) he wouldn't start any games (at NUFC he has a chance to start) 2) Too many youngsters already in Arsenals academy who are similar to Aarons.

I hope it is all just smoke and mirrors and hope it'll get sorted soon! Im off to the Toon on Saturday to watch the friendly vs B.M. so will be good to see if Aarons plays and what type of reception he will get

It does, so he effectively has a two year deal as we can extend it without him agreeing as it's already inserted as a clause in his contract. No need to panic, I reckon talks are already under way on a new deal. If it get's to January and he's still not signed then I'd say the signs probably aren't great. As I say though, unless mega money comes in then we have him for a minimum of another two seasons.

    Ah ha! A new member...

Meet me at Monument at dusk for the initiation event. Clothing optional, though not preferred.

With regards Rolando, the best thing for him to do is sign a 3 year deal with us at £20,000 a week, with a release clause of around £20 million. Why? Because if he shows form an consistency over any sort of period, he'll be snapped up, get a percentage of the lavish transfer fee, get an even higher wage, and will have been getting paid more than his measly post-academy wages he's been getting for the rest of his time with us.

Worst scenario for him, he refuses to sign for us and then gets snapped up on a free. He'll keep his food ration wages and be in a worse position to negotiate with his next club.

If I was his agent, I'd have him signed next week. To be fair though, if he does show that those couple of appearances were not a flash in the pan, and I was his agent, I'd have a lot more ambition for him than staying at ****ing Newcastle United long-term. We're going nowhere!

When the Sharks come hunting Rolando, he will go, the same way that Sterling went when Man City came calling.
It's inevitable and just the way things are.
Loose change for clubs like Arsenal to put him on ridiculous money without batting an eyelid.

Maybe we'll get a year or two out of him at best, so enjoy it while he's here.

True just look at how sterling, Ibe, coutinho, flanno, Sturtidge, Henderson have all failed miserably in their developments <whistle>
seems someone is very bitter towards Lfc lol.

He should do exactly what sterling didn't and hopefully he has a decent agent giving him sound advice. Go to a team at the top where he'll play 10 games a season for next couple of years.... Or stay where he is, get 70 games under his belt across the next couple of seasons and then move on if Newcastle can't match his ambitions. He of has the confidence he deserves to be at a 'better' team then he doesn't need to jump ship the first time an offer comes In.

I I don't wish players fail but I hope sterling doesn't meet the hype if anything just to show that jumping ship to the bigger in before you've really developed doesn't always work.

You obviously love you club mate and your players, fair play if you think the likes of Jon Flanagan are examples of players who set bench marks for others.

What on earth would I have to be bitter about? If you want to compare youth development and use players like Sturridge who was already a very good baller I raise you Cristiano Ronaldo. If you claim Henderson is some sort of world beater I raise you the class of '92 which should put paid to your Stevie Bottlejobs and Jamie Carraghers as well.

I've nothing to be bitter about. Your best player just left because he thinks he has a better chance of trophies at another English team. I don't see how you can consider yourselves as a great option, he might as well stick a decent stint in at Newcastle and skip the middle man.

Right pretty sure sturridge and coutinho were at other clubs at rizzys age, hendo probably as well. I think someone is being a bit naive here. manquillo, allen, borini, that other spanish forward, coates... etc the list goes on.
