Roker Report chatted with an Argentine football expert to see if there was any cause for optimism with regards to Marcos Angeleri... the signs were quite positive actually. http://rokerreport.com/2011/02/22/will-the-real-marcos-angeleri-please-stand-up/ Thanks for reading. And as always, you can see my username, so if you don't like me or the site, don't bother clicking on it. RR
I haven't a clue on the lad, but am prepared to reserve judgement for now. I find it worrying that he sits on the bench week after week and doesn't even get 5 minutes to become acustomised, but Bruce has brought many a player from South America who blossomed in season 2 (Palacios and Valencia the main 2, the overrated Figeroua is a passable player). I hold out hope for Angleri and Riveros, on this basis.
Same as you Brucey, I hold out hope. I've seen many people though on inferior forums than this one say he's rubbish, waste of money, huge mistake etc.
You know what annoys me about these people mate, they ain't seen the lad play to pass judgement, none of us have, so they are just spouting it off. With Da Silva, we could see a decent player, not suited, moved on, best wishes. With Riveros, there's been flashes of being useful on the ball, bear with him. With Angleri? We have nothing to work on. He has some pedigree, and until i've seen him a few times with my own eyes, i won't assume he won't make it. No one, bar Bruce, players and coaching staff, can say they know on Angleri, that's fact!
I agree, hence I tried to find someone who had seen him for more than the 76 minutes we've seen in an SAFC shirt for more informed opinion.
He's a bit handsome for my liking mind, my lass used to slaver over Lorik, might be best if he's kept on the bench, on that basis I messaged that Tim Vickery fella on the beeb, his blog is excellent, but i never got a reply, sadly, so good that you found someone
Not at all mate, if your lass wants him, that means my lass is safe, so no fight needed. (Maybe you and Angeleri like )
Well if I could bash his face about a bit more he might look like me, as there's no way I'd look like him without extensive plastic surgery, wigs and liposuction.
All ive seen of Angeleri is the cross that landed on the roof of the north stand in his 5 min cameo! Thankfully i was on holiday for the Notts County game. He needs some time to settle i guess. Riveros doesnt really excite me to much in the games ive seen. He looks a bit slow and a bit lightweight plus missed a chance Vs Arsenal that Thora Herd would have buried. I think the fact that Colbeck came on ahead of him against Spurs shows Brucies lack of faith.
