This weeks Captains Blog is about injuries. Perhaps we should stop bemoaning our 'luck' with injuries and get proactive to stop them happening in the first place... http://www.rokerreport.com/2011/4/6...ing-to-an-injury-crisis-as-beyond-us-its-time
This is my first post on this board but I do like reading the comments and also the roker report. Good article about the injury problems we've had but to add something else to it is that our head physio left the club last year amidst rumours of a bust up with Bruce about rushing players back to early. Could just be coincidence or bad luck but it is frustrating that injuries have played a big part in the 2 seasons Bruce has been in charge! It would be interesting to know if the same thing happened to Wigan and Birmingham!
Thanks for reading Houghton, and welcome to the board. I think there could be a lot going on in that rumor, even this weekend, Turner should never have been back, and Bruce has history with it.
It's not as if we didn't have options either because Ferdinand could of went to centre back with elmo coming in at right back! They wouldn't of performed any worse and it would of at least gave us some much needed width!
Cattermole is another prime example. Bramble too, made his return against Blackpool, now out for weeks with a 'recurrence' of the problem.
Good points there Roker. Could it be something to do with our actual training staff. With the likes of Bally in charge of the reserves surely the only thing on his mind is a good old tackle and scrap. Maybe we should look to bring in a new coach in the summer or try something a bit different. Obviously I dont go to training so I dont know what goes on but I am just suggesting this could be a reason for our injuries.
How is Meyler getting on? I felt really sorry for this lad when he got injured again, looks like a decent young prospect too.
