my day just got a lot better not without it's discrepancies mind and we've been burned by trailers in the past, even the latest film didn't live up to the hype imo, but there's always hope they'll do something fresh and fun with the license and this looks better for not having to shoehorn-in original trilogy characters. woop
pretty sure comm hates it too. is that amy schumer? can't stand that cow but might consider giving her a pass now
Probably woouldn;t touch the sides mate! Self confessed slut!! (No offense to you but I reckon Rocco Siffredi would struggle to touch the sides from the stories I've heard about her!)
hope the internet provider at work doesn't itemise our internet history. i'll have a few questions to answer about Italian stallions and fellatio with swords
Star wars is ****. Alec Guinness (Obi ****obi) called it mumbo jumbo in space. I'd say he was being flattering about the horrendous pile of ****... Another Lucas abomination.
Alec Guinness was a miserable snob. Fair enough if you don't like sci-fi or the films themselves for whatever reason but "pile of ****" and "abomination"? That's just incorrect.
hmm, a clearly non-biased and well-researched argument there disco. alec guiness said that? is that why he appeared in 3 films and took a percentage of profits instead of a definitive fee for the role, knowing full well that mumbo jumbo in space wasn't going to become the phenomenon it has? fastest film to take $1bn highest grossing opening weekend $529m Disney's most successful film ~$2bn gross over $700m in toy sales estimated brand value $10bn that's **** that like and that's just the newest one
You're acting like Comm when he sees a thread about Australia I agree though, couldn't agree more in fact.
Nobody can knock the brand mind, it's got a lot of people hooked. Are they making them just to make money now though? I think so.
and why the **** not.? there's been a desire and demand for decades. all the great books (which have unfortunately been brushed aside and into an "alternative" universe) bridging the time between the originals and Lucas' abortive prequels (i don't think you'll find a single star wars fan who likes these). These new ones are just picking up the torch and running with it. as long as they're entertaining i don't see the harm. unless they pull another prequel out and then there'll be blood spilled, i tells ya.
Not for me, there'll be none of it under my roof. I think it's all them dorks who religiously follow it and people who do impressions of the characters that put me off.
i saw the last star wars film and fell asleep twice, thought it was a pile of poo. Like blondie noshing the light sabre though.
Loathe them mate. I don't like the acting, the camp costumes, the over the top music or the ridiculous literary universe it's set in. Research doesnt really come into it. I saw the first six films and hated them. I don't really think anymore research is required. It's a matter of taste so you won't find an unbiased opinion anywhere on this. Facts and statistics don't really come into art. I hope you're not saying that profits make a good film. It sounds like you should be applauding the studio's branding, marketing and merchandising of the films, which is indeed brilliant, and not the films themselves. There's a reason Star Wars films don't win awards.
that's better. see? reasoning, as opposed to "it's ****". explaining your dislike of sci-fi, acting, costumes and music. star wars was massive before Disney got a hold of it so marketing will be negligible in this instance. it's more that people wanted more films for decades then were disappointed with what they got from lucas in the 2000's. the books proved their was understanding and appreciation of the license out there and it needed a fresh approach from someone other than lucas and his yes-men (Rick McCallum). facts and stats will help substantiate an argument. good films will typically, not always, make a profit. although granted the two aren't always mutually exclusive. good films can do badly and poor films can do well but this is atypical. that star wars made significant money in the 70's and 80's speaks testament to their popularity: ergo not ****. the arguement that rice is **** because it's bland, cheap and millions of people eat it every day just doesn't make sense, just like your original statement.
