<peacedove>Bredan Rogers gave credit to the Keeper of Reading, without him Suarez should
    scored hat-tric yesterday.<applause><applause><applause>

That's only one. We had a bunch of outstanding oppo keeper performances to contend with last season. So don't make a fuss.

Keeper made 3/4 good saves, rest were hard but right at him.

We had plenty of chances to score and should have taken them.

  4. Their keeper was very good but we had to give him to opportunities to look good. You would have thought that if we're going to have 26 shots with 15 on target, we would muster at least one that heads towards a corner!!!

Same goes for last season, for a keeper to have a good game, the opposition strikers have to give him a chance of saving their
    shots.

We weren't good enough in front of goal.

    Simples.

Massive overreaction, we are/were as of last week top scorers in the league in the year 2013 and 3rd or 4th highest in the league all season. We've gone 2 games without scoring but it's hardly like we've gone all season without managing to hit the back of the net.

5 past Norwich is useless when we can't get 1 against either Wham or Reading

  9. It seems to be one extreme or the other: scores and concede lots or none. We lack balance, this is an issue that usually takes time to resolve. Its just frustrating in the mean time!

Didn't see the game but heard that Suarez was central? If so, why not stick Sturridge back in the middle with Suarez on the wing? Suarez likes to drop deep to get the ball which means no one will be in the box.

It was one of those games but our attack has improved significantly since last year. Coutinho looks boss.

  11. It didn't seem like we had a central striker all game. Sturridge, Coutinho and Suarez were all floating about, make me wonder if BR is trying to adopt the 4-6-0 formation that Spain tried in the summer, BR spoke quite highly of this system when he first joined us saying that he had done it at Swansea too.

To be fair, it's not as if we didn't create any chances. But unless Sturridge is the central striker, we lack a presence in the box - someone who will be in the right place at the right time.

  13. We certainly lacked that IMO <ok>

Not buying that, stick the ball where the keeper can't reach and you don't give him the chance to make a good save.

end of season malaise has set in. expect us to whimper out of the year lucky to get 7th.

we might pick up on a sunny day in may and play decent but a wet day away? nah we've no bottle to deliver then.

All a bit pessimistic today aren't you? Two 0 - 0 draws on the trot isn't the best, but we didn't concede. We won't get 6th now though, by the looks of it.

    you sound pessimistic there!

Trust me as your now elder and better wiser head ;) this is so reminiscent of sides that just give up and settle. Once the sun is shining and the temperatures rise we'll give one good last game for all the fools to go off for the the summer happy and saying next year boys. The rest of us wise head know that we settled last year in janaury and just played for a cup run and this year we have just given up really.
But I'll still enjoy that one last hurrah once the sun's shining.

A season of steady progress? Rodgers is going to be up against it from hereon in. Kenny was axed for producing less and was given just 18 months. Will Rodgers be given until Dec 2013? I somehow doubt it, but you never know. Kenny's dismissal was an error in my opinion, and dismissing Rodgers might well be another one.

And now for my bear-baiting act :) - Anyone for Rafa?

    kenny produced a trophy.

Rodgers had a very bad start and really nothings been resolved in my mind at the back nor have we really resolved much other than having two guys who do look really good together in coutinho and suarez.

St john.. i'd rather have tahtcher than rafa... he's a chave now and they are welcome to him ;) only joking.. but no i' rather not have the ego back thanks.
