Just turned on Sky Sports News and it says Birmingham have accepted a £7m bid from Wolves for RJ. Shame that it doesn't look like we'll be able to see him back at the City this season, was one of my favourite players of the last few years! Did we have any sort of sell on clause?
Ninian! I don't think we get a penny m8.We did have an agreement with Brum of £300,000 a year for a couple of years as long as they stayed in the Prem.
ITIWRAN - I remember WoL taking great pleasure in the fact we 'missed out' on £300k. Bad management or some crap like that. Still another obstacle I didn't fancy us facing this year.....Right, who's next?
he's a decent player, i've never really believed why this guy is so highly rated to be honest, he doesnt strike me as a £7m player, dont get me wrong i thought he forged a great CB partnership when he was here but as a 28 year old i dont see how they will get value for money from this signing. shame we didnt get a sell on clause though, especially as we've missed out on some money from brum too
If he gives Wolves 2 to 3 years of the way he played for Brum until the last 3 months after the Craling Cup win then they will have a bargain.
Should have sold Ledley & McCormick & kept Johnson way back when . I wonder what might have been if you had , considering the problems you guys went on to have on defense after Johnson left . Johnson was a great Cardiff player & it is testimony to his loyalty to Cardiff the way he felt bad as he moved up to the Premier League when he left . Great footballer !!
Breezey We didn't really have an option with us having failed to get to the play offs, 1 year left on his contract and him wanting Prem football. We/he could have run down his contract and got nothing, like Ledley but it was £5m in the bank with extras if Brum stayed in the Prem. Doh!!!!!
