When listening to Canary Call last night one of the callers liked Chris Hughton to Glenn Roeder, which actually made me spit my beer out as it was something that kind of crossed my mind during yesterdays game, after all there wasn't much else to keep me amused. I came to the conclusion that CH is nowhere near as bad as GR was but he is more negative in his approach for certain and at least it appears the CH & his "team" can spot a talented player, something GR certainly could not do. If anyone, who would you compare CH to or does he fall in to a category of his own? (not restricted to Norwich managers)
Agree with the worthy comparison, although he was more attack minded than this chump ! But will never forget how I felt after taking the lead in play off final and straight away replaced attacking player for defender will always blame that decision for defeat, if he'd have just had PL's balls that day we'd have won. But to compare him to the rodent is not right IMHO the rodent was in a class of his own when it came to clueless twats. !
If Roeder was our manager now he would have got rid of all our good players, wouldn't have signed players like Bassong or Snodgrass who have been great this season and we'd probably be relegated by now with very few points. On paper the team looked good yesterday, and I doubt CH told the players to sit back for 90 minutes and not have a shot on target. But the players performance was dreadful, never got going.

Hughton wasn't my first choice,or my second.(Holloway & Malky btw) But despite this dire spell I think you have to acknowledge that survival was the aim. I think Hughton will deliver on that and next season it will be more his team.Actually my first choice would have been Lambert but we didn't have that option.

I don't think he is like any other of our managers. He is so blinkered and dogmatic in his approach. Rioch is probably the nearest. Hamilton, Grant and Gunn were totally clueless. Poor old Worthy had just run out of ideas. Roeder just was different because Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones didn't know where he had escaped to.

The comparison with Worthy is a bit misleading because all but one year were in the championship. His one year in the PL was far more miserable than this one - I can remember dreading matches coming as there was so little chance of a result. 35 points that year. I think it's too easy to blame the manager. The PL is always going to be a hard battle week after week. Last year City was fortunate to get away wins against Bolton and QPR because they had players stupidly sent off. I don't see CH as dogmatic, just realistic given the league we are playing in.
Both bloody clueless and listening to the gibbering twat being interviewed by Chris Goreham yesterday, I actually found myself feeling sorry for him. He sounded as if he didn't know what to do next, as if he'd run out of ideas. If we do manage to stay up (which I now doubt), we will almost certainly go down next year if McNally doesn't wield the axe and get rid of him and the sooner the better, tomorrow if you like. I remember an ex City player having great success with our youth team back in the 80's before talking over first team matters. He then went on to nearly achieve the double despite having to contend with a certain R Chase as his Chairman. Now I wonder .......................?
IF the axe was to fall in May, and I doubt it will, then yes MON is about the only manager out there with the experience, passion etc BUT would he really be any better? What has he actually achieved as a manager? He has done well at each and every team he has managed but only for a short space of time, he has never been able to keep it going for whatever reason. To me that would would leave a really big ? over him.
Yes, sack the manager with only 3 games to go. That makes complete sense. We haven't been in the bottom 3 for nearly all season and I can't see us going down, we have 2 home games left which I have no doubt we will pick up points. The way I see it is, we'll stay up, Hughton will improve attacking just like he did with our defence and have a much better season 13/14. The players need to do their bit as well, the passing and crossing and going forward was generally bad yesterday.
I'm glad you agree drunky, a kick up the backside a la Di Canio at Sunderland and we'll be home and dry Seriously though, I've lost complete faith in CH and I can't believe anyone on here who knows anything about football cannot agree with me
