Yeah I am torn. On the one hand I agree completely that from a sporting integrity POV, it's hard to imagine relegating teams without a fair shot (he brought up Tranmere which would be absolutely devastating for them) or us being frozen out because the musical chairs ended with us on a bad run, but I just don't think this is going to be as simple as 'playing behind closed doors'. We're seeing with Watford etc that the league will likely have to deal with a serious situation at some point and there's a chance that they start, then stop again. In the end we have people arguing for what they think is best from a sporting perspective, not a health perspective. Let's not pretend it's anything else.
"In the end we have people arguing for what they think is best from a sporting perspective, not a health perspective. Let's not pretend it's anything else." The Olympics was cancelled, says it all.
Yup. The idea that sporting integrity - particularly at the end of a season - is worth all this hassle is mental.
It’s so complex isn’t it. There’s a million factors from health, to the competition, to the knock on effect of next season, to local businesses. I don’t envy them trying to work it out, whilst keeping clubs in business. It’s like trying to solve a rubix cube, as a blind, double amputee.
I'm struggling to accept that any professional sport can be justified while we still have hundreds of people dying every single day. To me its not worth risking the health of the thousands of people required to stage BCD matches nationwide. I'd sooner resurrect the good old pools panel to decide results.
I’ll be honest mate I couldn’t give a toss what they do as for the virus 300 dead 600 dead a 100 dead don’t even watch the news anymore it’s like our club just somebody tell me when there’s nobody dead anymore and then I will return to normal
