Very sad news, particularly for us "old'uns"

Rodney scored the first live goal I ever saw as City beat Birmingham 3-1 in the opening game of the 1969/70 season - we had been relegated to the then League Division Two having lost the FA Cup final to Man City ... Rodney was a real goal poacher and a bit of a legend

    RIP Roddddddddddddddddddddddddnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <rose> <peacedove> <cheers>

RIP Rodney. I too started following City in the late 60's. As a kid always fascinated with his sideburns. Great player for LCFC.

The hair and the sideburns were amazing. Got a hazy memory of him scoring past Lev Yashin in a pre season friendly at Filbo (LY was reckoned to be the best in the world at the time - soon to be overtaken by our very own Gordon Banks), RIP Rodney.

I remember that goal v Birmingham. It was typical Rodney, he could look clumsy at times but then come up with something brilliantly off the cuff like that.
