I said over a year ago that I thought Rodgers was a total fraud, who was riding the wave with a pair of top drawer strikers, one of whom was having the season of his life. Now the genuine star has departed and his partner been in the sick bay for most of the season, the tactical genius is being exposed for what he really is. As he simply hasn't been able to put out a side that bares even a passing resemblance to the 'entertainers' of last season, and this despite spending £115m this summer, that added to the £100m he'd already spent as Liverpool manager. So my question to you kopites is simple; do you think Rodgers will get it right as Liverpool manager or do you think he's now on the downward slope that will end with the inevitable invite to Boston? Mods poll please

I said last season that our attackers carried our team last season i.e. SAS, Sterling, Coutinho and Henderson. They masked a weak defence and poor DM. However, you have to admit that he did a very good job of building the team around Suarez and getting the most out of the attack. That was a great job - however, he needs to adapt to his current resources. The man is only 41 and has a lot to learn.
bit early for that bollocks tobes, sackings usually start in December geared up ready for new manger to have money to spend in jan, not looking great at the moment, but we have lost our 2 best players from last season and all the pressure has gone to a 19 yr old, funny that point doesn't get mentioned though. have you done a thread on the utd board why a manager who had £150 mill to spend yet is below a team that everyone keeps saying is crap and they havent lost their best 2 players either. there's the fraud, or you could mention moyes. brendan may have got lucky in what we had last season, even though we came 2nd not 7th, but better candidates before him if you like to use the term fraud. plus its only october didn't realize the season had finished, how fecking stupid is this going to look if we somehow come 4th.(i doubt higher but 4th is possible still)
I think you're probably about right there fella. In fairness he did maximise what he had at his disposal last season, but for me he invested very poorly and he'll ultimately be judged on what he's built, which at the minute looks like a straw house......
Its funny seeing you all use the very same excuses you dismissed last season when they effected united. You = liverpool fans in general on here. Oh and we lost two of the best centre backs the leagues seen, our captain and 12 months before the greatest manager of all time. Basically far more than liverpool lost.
most agree with you there tobes, but the judgement comes at the end of the season how you have done with resources available. it does look at a total mess at the moment, but there is time and another window to put things right.
I was busy preparing for a gig all afternoon and then had a five hour drive to the gig - only reason I wasn't on. My opinion is Rodgers needs to learn from his mistakes, and if he doesn't let his ego get in the way he could well be a Liverpool managers for many, many years. Personally I like him - and would want him to visit Boston perhaps for a romantic weekend with his new young bird
what camped on the utd board every day talking bollocks? hows your fair weather fans internet holding up this season lol
Bit early for what? I'm just asking for the opinion of reds..... I did mention your striker situation and the fact that the pressure has fallen on a 19 year old (who was already at the club when he arrived) in their absence, speaks volumes given the massive amount of cash he's spent, don't you think? I don't think for one minute he'll be sacked during this season btw.
The exact same number of posters and posts as always. Matth aside who does vanish after defeat the rest of us have always been here. Its like calling tobes fair weather, or the newcastle fans who have the busiest board on here followes by the sunderland fans. Only one board goes from thriving to ghosttown when their team loses.
I agree. The young players we signed - Can, Markovic, Moreno and Manquillo are very good buys IMO, who should have added youth and energy to the squad. The issue I have is the experienced players we signed who should have been first teamers, improved the first XI and take us to the next level i.e. Lallana, Lovren and Balotelli. Balotelli - I have sympathy for because he's had no support from Rodgers from day 1 (who publicly admitted that he was a last resort) and then continue to playing him as a lone striker which simply isn't his game. Lovren for £20m was always a sh*t signing and it's one that Rodgers wanted. The committee rejected signing Lovren last season for £10m and the fact we got him this season for twice the price smacks of Rodgers being given more power. And the same applies to Lallana, who isn't sh*t, but isn;t better than what we already have.
