So Rodgers can't mention who he would like on loan the Chelsea manager has the right to veto any moves, but come on Rodgers was just expressing an interest like a hundred other managers have done in the past! Really this move would benefit the player and chelsea if he is not getting games, but of course it's up to the player if he wants to come here or not.
My opinion too Jager, but to me looks like Villas-Boas thinks it's better for a player to watch the galacticos from the touchline than to learn the game by playing. Horses for courses...
AVB may see Brenden as a rival for his job! seems that there is a bit of tension in the air RE josh, i thought it a bit strange that Brenden was talking him up,seemed like it was a done deal when he was saying those things, obviously not!! AVB is right though,we wouldnt like it if the same was happening to one of our players ,but if AVB regards him that highly then why doesnt he play the lad?? Looks like Brenden may have burnt his Bridges(no pun intended) with AVB, but its hardly the end of the world, there will be another Chelsea manager there next season
Norway it has happened with some of our players who went out on loan and sold this season, Gus Poyet expressed an interest in Ryan Harley in July and was sold to them in August , it happens all the time in football! To say that a manager cannot talk about another player just in case it upsets someone is daft, if nobody mentioned anything transfers wouldn't happen.
The same Ryan harley that never even played a first team game for us and was never part of brendens plans from the moment he came here ?? hardly the same thing Jager, that was a player who was clearly on the market from the swans . Does it really happen all the time?? you dont hear about your star players being touted around by other managers very often if at all. sure it has happened on the odd occasion (think jewell and ferrie) and the reaction that follows is normally quite angry from club and fans , Gus poyet obviously went through the correct process of talking about it to the club first , it seems Brenden rodgers hasnt done this and it has slightly upset AVB. Alot goes on behind the scenes as we all know, the press is normally the last to know about a move ,it normally starts with a call from an agent or manager to another agent or manager , AVB feels that Brenden has jumped the Gun a little bit and it looks like there hasnt really been much dialogue between the two regarding the player.
"Tapping up" is rife! It's normally the players that start it though, I think, trying to engineer a move to a fatter contract. Once the player wants out, normally the opposing manager comes out with "so and so is the type of player we're always on the lookout for" etc etc. It sucks, and I don't think it should go on, but I don't mind so much when it's about loans. It's got to be nice for young players to know that they're in demand, and it's not like we're some "galactico" trying to poach players.
"Tapping up" as you call it ,indeed goes on all the time ,but i dont think its quite the same situation here, infact nothing like it.Seems more like a conversation took place about the player that was supposed to stay private and ended up as a media story . AVB is upset for a reason, considering they are known to be friends its a very harsh statement to make from him and it has cast Brenden as the bad guy .I dont understand AVB s stance but something has upset him thats for sure
how will mceachran progress as a player if he cant get first team football? 5 months at another league side playing a similar style of football would help him massively, though at the same time its AVB's job to look after the interests of chelsea, and not necessarily of an individual footballer, he doesnt have massive depth with essien out and mikel possibly out over the winter period with the african cup of nations, add the fact that he believes lampard cant play every game and you start to understand why he's reluctant to let him go out on loan....
I still think theres every chance the he will be here on loan come January. just wait and see. As been said earlier if we dont get him there is someone else out there who will be as good.
£13.2m to get him, compensation to ancelotti, compensation to AVB and his staff, what a tremendous waste of money!
I wonder if Brendan had a word with that miserable Scottish git after the game to see if there`s an option there. Surely they must have some youngsters ready to farm out to gain experience.
