Brendan Rodgers has asked for patience as Ferrie Bodde makes another return from injury. Ferrie finally returned this week for the reserves against Hereford as he started another comeback from an injury suffered more than three years ago. Having come through the reserve outing, there was immediately talk of a return to the first team squad - something played down by his manager who was clear when he said there was no real target date for a return to first team action. "Psychologically it's been a difficult time for Ferrie," Rodgers said. "He has been training for three or four weeks and now he has come through 45 minutes for the reserves, but for me there's no great expectation as far as Ferrie goes for this season. If we can get him fully fit by the end of the season then great. Hopefully then we will have a top player in our ranks at the start of the next pre-season." - PlanetSwans Link: http://www.planetswans.co.uk/article/view/be-patient-over-ferrie I see the sense in all this, and we are in no need to rush him back, though we can never be accused of that, this time around, but it would be great if we could see the evil genius in action before the season finishes! Wise words Musty mate and totally agree - no rush to get him back - let him go at his own pace and hopefully he can return fit and well in the future.
Judging by photos ive seen from Hereford game, i was quite suprised how unfit/overweight ferrie appeared, considering some people thought he was ready to comeback into front line action im glad Brenden has taken the sting out of it all. I also think its correct to aom for next season, i dont think Rodgers will even considers Bodde a part of his team until he is pulling up trees in reserves and training , that could well be a long way away . Good luck Ferrie, see you next season hopefully
Brendan is not going to come out and say boddie was rubbish is he......we have gone past the time where we cant turn back and must give boddie a chance to get up to scratch but like i said in another post there has to be a time scale and to me that scale should last until we start our pre-season games next season. lets be honest here that is a long time and if he is not ready by then then its unlikely he will ever be, we then can make a decision to let him go....
Now that he's probably finally ready he'll be held back till next season , when he wasn't ready it was hurry up & get him in there (GRR )
"Brendan is not going to come out and say boddie was rubbish is he..."" Not sure I've misread your post but are you saying he was rubbish?
The only problem the club now face is that he is i beleive out of contract at the end of the season. The club is pretty much now forced to offer him at least another years contract to protect their invested time/money , so it could well be 4yrs without playing first team football, we are at the point of no return with him so must secure his services just to see the situation all the way through. Any other player would have been long gone by now..
boddie was rubbish at hereford according to fans that saw him play and that is understandable with him not playing for 3 years so no im not saying he is a rubbish player at all. he just looked rubbish at hereford, his class is still there and he made one superb pass through the middle of the field abet playing low standard players but that was it really.....like i said give him a chance and see if he can get to premiership level. he has plenty of time now so there is no excuse and come next season and he is not ready then say enough is enough.....give him a chance is all he and us can expect..its all down to him now...
Well I've not seen him play at Hereford, so will keep my powder dry, but will go along with what Dai has said, at the end of the day, it's only common sense to see this out, hopefully he can start to get regular games for our reserves, that should help his weight issues! anyone know when the next reserve home game is, and where?.................. please log in to view this image
