Top-scorer Simon Church has been linked with a £2million move to Swansea City, where he would link up with his former boss Brendan Rodgers, with ex-Royals striker Leroy Lita returning to the club as part of the deal. Not sure how i feel on this if there is any truth in it..
As I said on my earlier thread on this, I don't think that Church is any better than what we've got - and £2 million????? Surely there is better value out there? I'm not saying that Church is a bad player but I'm not certain what he would bring to us. To be honest, at the moment I regard him as something of a young journeyman with some potential but a hell of a lot to prove. If we pay Reading that sort of money for him they will literally be laughing all the way to the bank. I know that Buck still has connections there but Reading can look elsewhere for a financial benefactor - we can't afford it!! For my money, Church is worth about £500/£750k in today's market but I'm not the least bit convinced that we need him anyway. Far better value and better players about, particularly in Europe.
Come on Rodgers, if your going for another championship striker, look no further than Emnes, far better than Church will ever be!..................... please log in to view this image
