Just shows the quality of the Journo's these day's! Bunch of inept monkey's, never mind let's get behind Laudrup and be the 12th man and give the imposter a good lesson in football, he'll never forget! Up The Mighty Swans..........................

If we don't win on Sunday it's going to get tough around here for a few days - all the plebs from 'Pool and Rogers' neophytes will be on here lording it up. But I think we have quality all over the park and am looking forward to a great demonstration of the difference between the Rogers' style of zero risk sideways-sideways-back-back-back and Laudrup's slick attacking style.

Laudrup has many permutations in midfield and up front at his disposal - clear demonstration of how he crafted a squad from the get go. I don't think it was clear to any of us what he was doing at the start but his ability to identify and blend economic talent is one of the hallmarks that separates him from Rogers.

Banana skin! Liverpool will be fired up and, like us, they are starting to get it together. They have a lot of pace and trickery and we will have to be really on our game to win this one.

We are well capable of it but they are going to push us hard and they will cause problems. Midfield will decide this. We have to keep the ball to stop them playing and cut off the service to Suarez. That will not be easy. To be honest, I think this game will define exactly what we are made of. Win it, which we can do, and I believe we will carry on with confidence to have a successful season. A score draw would not surprise me and it's far from improbable that Liverpool might nick it but I'm going for a nail-biting 2-1 for us.

It will be a very intresting game, it will also be a chance to see how much sweat Rodgers players are prepared to give him, to me its a good measure of how he is respected by the players, if they come out and give it the full monty for 90mins we will have an extremly hard test, it will also tell us that his players are prepared to graft for a result that deep down Brenden would love to get,his players should want to win it for him if they have anything about them!

the longer Liverpool go on not beating us the more the comparison will be made about wheather it was his system at Swansea or a system that was already in place, of course we know the real answer to this!! Brenden will look more and more foolish the longer it goes without getting the required result against us, it will bring up questions about him that he can easily avoid with a Victory.

I felt that rodgers bottled his selection against us for the capital cup,he didnt want to expose his first XI against us and get comparisons drawn between the two clubs players/systems and tactics.
He did exactly the same when we went to Wigan in the cup a few years back, he bottled that as well and didnt want to expose himself tactically against Bobby M. On sunday its the real buisness though and his strongest team needs to be on the field. If liverpools players are not up for it and lose it will tell me they have not bought into him 100% yet. If they give it all and lose then we will know we played at 100% ability .

Liverpool are improving but as others mentioned on other threads there is a fragile aspect to their game at the moment,if we can expose that and make them ask questions of themselves then we will get some joy.

Whatever happens it will be a fantastic game with two good teams, alot has been written about Brenden but when thats all said and done i dont dis like the guy, he did some below the belt stuff but overall the good things he brought to us far out weigh the bad stuff.
He signed a long term contract knowing that there would be a big job offer on the Horizon (i beleive he was lined up for the spurs job) that ensured the club got good money for him,he didnt need to do that so we should be thankful for that at least.

Laudrup is the new man and has done fantastic so far, i think 99% of swans fans are now firmly in love with ML and see the whole episode as working out in our favour,we dont know how things will pan out but its looking pretty decent so no complaints!
If Brenden had stayed i think we would have struggled alot more this season, the writing was on the wall from March onwards and it was probably a blessing indisguise that he went and took that usless rosy cheeked "coach" Pascoe with him!!

Eric Larsen is our secret weapon guys, his knowledge of europes footballers is apparently frightning!! the only thing i ever saw pascoe do was whisper sweet nothings in Brendens ear to which there would be no reply..<laugh>

Ive given the Liverpool guys some stick recently but actually they are a pretty sound bunch, i will be glad when this game is over and we can both move on to fresh targets.

I fancy us to sneak a tense 2-1 but would gladly settle for a point, Liverpool should be a really hard game,if it isnt then there are problems up North <ok>

Norway, do you have a ghost writer? I'm sure you can't have time to generate this volume of words yourself. <laugh>

It's easy to over-analyse this game. At the end of the day it's just a game between two mid-table teams, and as such, could go either way.

Dai, either learn to read or learn to engage your brain before you reply.
I know he helped us reach the championship, but if you really believe he guided us up through the football league, you're more deluded than I suspected :emoticon-0181-fubar

He didn't guide us through the football league Dai. What part of that don't you understand?
We started our journey through the football league before he was heard of.
How do you know we wouldn't be facing Liverpool on Sunday without him? I thought we established that you can't be sure of that?
Bloody going round in circles ya :headbang:

Kenny Jackett got us promotion from league 2 and Roberto Martinez from league 1.

No one manager guided us all through the leagues.

Paulo Sousa as well as Brendan Rodgers helped get us where we are today.

The real credit goes to the board who were forward thinking enough to change the mentality of the way the game is played by our our team. The appointment of Martinez was the catalyst and pivotal in the development of Swansea City FC.

Rodgers like the other managers are history, it's clear already that our present manager is of a higher calibre standard and we should be glad we've got him

I think many people are overly keen to lay far too much of the credit for our promotion to the highest level of domestic football at the feet of Rodgers. It's becoming fairly apparent by the way this club is being run (and the ease with which managers are replaced) that we'd have made it to the Premier League soon enough even if Rodgers had never become manager here.

That's not belittling the job he did because he still had to stick the landing, but he was highly fortunate to be offered the job at a club as well run, forward thinking and in tune with the way he wanted to manage as we were after his misadventures at the Madjeski.

I've been banging on about this for yonks! All managers made their contribution, but the two for me that stand out are Martinez first and foremost, without which there would be no Continental passing football here at Swansea, and Sousa for giving us our defensive strategy, which was Martinez only failing, Rodgers simply capitalised on what these two had laid in previous seasons!.........<ok>
