He just seems very hot and cold. Sometimes he gets it right, then seems to get complacent, change things up and result in us getting smashed.
I simply can't argue with that today. Started with poor selection & set up & he managed to leach all confidence & ability from a team that should be running on a high. Poor poor effort on his & his players part.
Mistakes today 1. Playing Allen - Massive f**k up 2. Keeping Allen on beyond 25 mins, he shudda been hooked then he was havin a mare 3. We wernt on top of game at 65 mins, they looked as likely to score as us, he shudda changed it, Hendo or Ibe shudda been on 4. He should have then left it 10, no goal, should have meant 3rd sub 5 .Should have played 3 CMs to get control of game Im beginning to get annoyed with him NOT making subs when we ARNT controlling the game and NOT looking like scoring

Can't argue with that. Knew it was coming after his 'we can win the next four games' comment yesterday
Usually I'd defend him but their's no excuses today.. To be completely honest, I don't know what he thinking..
This time DD his set up was arse. The space and opportunity to gang rape us in midfield cost us. That first 15 rattled us beyond repair and still he changed nothing, he glared from the sideline and did fk all till the damage was done. For once I'd like ot see us try be solid and not concede away from home v teams that CAN pass, that would have drawn them on and we could use space we never got for Danny Luis and Coutinho with overlaps from Downing and Johnson and Jose on the other side, they played the way we should have tactically
As I have said many many times and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, Lucas IS our most important player!
We hardly made them work in the final third as much as we should have done. That first 15 20 mins melted Skrtel's steel
spot on imo, and to think I was so positive this morning. Not surprised we lost. That will be the sign of progress, when losses like this surprise us.
Why does he think we can play our game regardless of the opposition, for me that's what happened today. Did he even see Southampton play prior to this game?? He wrecked our performance v Zenith with changes and left this crappy set-up in a game we're getting slaughtered in
Exactly. Speak to the Southampton fans and they will tell you they have decent midfield and attack, its their defence that lets them down. What do we do? We leave our only DM on the bench and play 424 with two attacking FBs and two CMs that are more attack minded. Basically saying "all the best Jones, Skrtel and Agger"
There were players that didnt perform today, but I feel if BR picked the team I wudda selected from the off, I think we would have played better in the 1st 20 and the momentum would have sEt us up for the rest of the game. The only thing defending BR today was the weather didnt help, I think we wudda got a draw if it wasnt for the 2nd half monsoon BR needs to learn, he needs to have his top boys on at the start ( Lucas ), he needs to have the guys on who help us get control of the game/ give us balance ( Henderson) at the start of the game. Cos in this game, especially with us,the stats are there to prove it, THE FIRST GOAL IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IMPORTANT
Ibe shouldn't have come on, this isn't a match to throw in a player like him. Once again, his stubbornness has hurt the club and the fans. He is absolutely determined to prove everyone wrong by forcing Allen and pretending he knows more about the game than others. 1. Lucas should have started, as he obviously wasn't injured. Why drop a player that has been playing well? 2. Henderson should have started. Why Downing again? Downing was ****e. Completely anonymous, then made so many poor passes and wrong passes to break up play. He pretty much only helped Southampton today. 3. When you see things aren't going your way, why not change them? Rafa used to do this all the time and it ****ing infuriated us. Rodgers has done this so many times this season that he has NO excuse anymore. Learn from your mistakes or we're doomed. Play your strongest side. Johnson has a poor game but that's not his usual game. The defense just looked really distracted, as if something had happened and they weren't focused on the game. Skrtel was poor but I think he's gonna get a lot of stick just because everyone else was poor. Agger had another poor match, he should really focus. Enrique was just not on the same wavelength. He was torn between actually trying to help us score and defending, because our strikers and defenders weren't doing either. He was ok. Gerrard was silent, no captain's voice. Suarez was having another one of his distracted games, where he tried but simply couldn't do anything or focus. Sturridge was ok, had a few good passes and a general idea of what to do but also let himself down with poor choices. Coutinho other than his goal was poor, had a heavy touch oddly and couldn't control the ball like he likes to do.
I agree with everything you say excepy IMO Hendo should been on for Couts on 60 who was struggling, and Ibe shoulda been on for Downing on 70, hes got explosive power and pace and would have given us something different. Like you say if you arnt controlling the game YOU HAVE to MAKE CHANGES, BR hoped for best today, that aint good enough
Hendo should have been on for Downing on 0 minutes. We missed his control and balance. Coutinho would have struggled much less with a balanced strong midfield behind him. Ibe isn't experienced enough for this type of game. Yeah he's got great pace and power but that's against reserve and U21 and U18 sides. Throw on players like this in winning games - unless you want another burnout like Insua. (Who's picked his career up quite a bit actually). Carragher would have been torn apart though. Yeah we would have been more compact but his lack of pace really shows. It has showed when we were losing with him in the squad. I think it's a collective case of complacency as opposed to Skrtel/Agger being poor. He wouldn't have done much worse though.
