I really really hope we hold on to him. If so I expect him to be our first choice at LW next season.

Lol. Rogers has set a precedent by getting £49m for sterling so, given I think Aaron's will end up better than Sterling as he has end product, I'd quote Brendan £50m for starters.
He's English and we're talking Rogers here lads.
The bloke who coughed £35m for Carroll.
On a serious note, if someone offered £20m for him I'd say deal.
Chambers was a relatively untried prospect when he went to arsenal for £19m so it wouldn't be unreasonable to ask for that.

Wasn't it Dalglish who bought Carroll?

We should not be even contemplating selling any of our young and up coming talent, such as Aaron's, Pereze, etc.
They are the future of our club and therefore priceless.
NUFC needs to say a big fat NO and lose the selling club tag, it's a crucial part of the new order, if indeed it truly exists.

You better start playing the kid then, if you want a decent price for the lad via tribunal you're gonna have to give him games otherwise he'll go for peanuts if he's not tied to a long contract.

Stick him on a big wage and he could turn out to be a crock.

You're not in the best place as is stands.

Important to get him tied to a new deal. He only has a year to go but pretty certain that I've read that we have an option to extend that for a further 12 months.

He would have played a lot more games last year TT, he was injured for a good part of it.

You're right though, if we don't play him, he'll want away. Marvellous prospect. England regular within two years I reckon.

He's shown some mad talent in the handful of appearances he's had by the sound of it, shame he was injured. Maybe he'll think he owes you lot and stay.

Liverpool is a **** tip of talent at the minute, he should come to United instead ;)

How about a swap deal for borini or balotelli. Both internationals for World Cup winning country and prem proven, you would only need to throw in £5m as well and I reckon we'd go for it :bandit:

Aarons will drop us in a flash if a big club comes in for him. You can tell he knows he's good and thinks he should be elsewhere, despite not having proved anything. If his current deal does run out at the end of the season and he won't sign a new deal we are in a weak negotiating position.

Unfortunatley I am inclined to agree. I think McClaren seems to be working hard to make him feel like this is where he should be so just hope it works.

Im resigned to the fact he will not be at NUFC forever, but in the meantime, i can see him having one hell of a season and getting on the plane to Euro 2016, I honestly think his good enough and the early pre-pre-season work will bode well for him. I'd like him to do the decent thing though and sign a contract 2-3 years 20k-30k a week and let him know that if a big price comes in for him, then fine we will deal, maybe even insert something to say he gets a % of the price we receive so he is equally keen to drive the price up. If he has the season I am expecting of him, he would easily be worth 40m on account of him being english mainly!

Aarons is a superior player to Sterling. If Sterling is worth £49 million, then Aarons will be worth at least £60 million in a couple of years.

Are we not getting a little carried away with this a bit. Put it into perspective and being honest he is a cracking talent. You can see that he has a bit of class about him but his injury record concerns me.

Dont get me wrong. Its been a while since we have such a talent at the club but I remember a certain Vuckic being of a similar ilk a couple of years ago and look at him now.

Sterling is a year older, has 129 appearances and 23 goals. Arrons has 6 appearances and 2 goals. The comparisons are there in terms of player style but quite simply Sterling has performed well and has played. Arrons has not.

Lets see how this season goes. I would have liked to get him tied up on a long term contract but you have to wonder why he has not yet. The club should really sort this out ASAP!

I don't think we can be saying he's superior to Sterling just yet. Sterling was a big part in Liverpool finishing runners up two years ago, he was also England's best player at the world cup which admittedly wasn't difficult.

Aarons certainly is a talent though. I'd be very surprised if contract talks with him haven't already taken place. I fully expect him to end up being our first choice left sided midfielder this season.

We actually have a very decent midfield IMO, probably the best outside the top 6 or 7 teams.

    Wijnaldum Colback

    Sissoko, De Jong, Aarons

With Anita, Abeid, Cabella, Perez also able to make decent contributions. I think Perez will be played as either a wide player or just off the main striker this season.

I hear these Sterling comparisons, But has sterling ever set himself up to score a bicycle kick? Furthermore, has sterling ever assisted Williamson in scoring? Aarons has done both and I think they are much bigger accomplishments tbh.

Aarons has only scored 2 competitively for Nufc (man City, Crystal Palace) but with friendlies, its 5 and his not played much more than 10 games overall, so near enough a goal every other game! he does need to sort his injuries out though
