I want a shot of the sky money for the 'family' before taking in all the niceties of the 'english grounds'. League One was fun, but that won't keep the Adams & Rickies in our stripes my friend.

Who wants those moneygrabbers, histree? What I want are a group of players with a sense of humour who if they lose have a laugh.

Don't think you will find any who laugh at losing in our team, Terry. Certainly won't find any on these boards, neither!

A refreshing wee debate on the merits of leaving or staying in the Football League. I too, have mixed feelings about returning to the Premier League. The FL is where real football is played, and there are no plastic parts. I would vote away the PL in an instant, if given the choice, but I can't. So it's time to give the PL the football club it has been missing for some time, and the one that gives that league substance. Let's face it, they've only been ambling along waiting for our return. ;)

Philosophical question. If Southampton are not in the Premier League, does the Premier League exist?

Not philosophical at all, Fran. The PL is a mere phantom, a ghost, a will-o-the-wisp, until SFC returns to make it real. They've just been playing for time - whatever that means in the PL. ;)

"I play therefore I am". ( quote: 300 BCE Southampton football player) the Greeks were not the only civilisation, they just thought they were....a bit like the PL. they think there is no footy outside their inner oblong..

We all strive to achieve, but do we stop to ponder what we really want? Look at Pompey and weep! Or look at MUFC and despair!!
