Those who intend to travel might want to investigate the weather information & perhaps even telephone before setting out. There is an 80% chance of snow for most of the night after midnight TONIGHT ! ( No, not in Medway ) The temperatures are set to be well below freezing. It is also set to rain/sleet for most of the day time tomorrow ! ( happy days - that'll do my man flu a lot of good ) I'd like to think that Rochdale will put covers on tonight - however the game could still be in doubt if the surrounding area is deemed to be too dangerous for attending fans. I have sent itstimupnorth a pm on the subject - but I think he's gone back into hibernation. I even told him it was my round at the Cemetery Hotel before the game - but he's not responding. I think that I may have traumatised him at Morecambe on Saturday - He said that he'd not been on NOT606 much lately - so I updated him on a few of the threads ( I think it was the Gordon Road Stand that finished him off )
Don't worry - still here. Just retired early yesterday!! Not sure which forecast alwaysright's been looking at, and the one on my phone (AccuWeather) is completely different to the one on the BBC web site. The AccuWeather one is much more pessimistic, but even they reckon there's only a 50% chance of any precipitation. The BBC one doesn't reckon there's much precipitation about in any form. The weather has been very pleasant for the last couple of days so the ground staff have had good conditions to prepare the pitch. It'll be a bit frosty overnight, but nothing that should cause any problems - daytime temperatures are up into the high single figures - decidedly tropical! My own personal view is that the chances of the game not going ahead are very remote indeed - even if there is a bit of snow I can't see it settling, and reckon it'll be the warm, wet variety, and even with a bit of rain I'm sure the pitch will be in much better condition than the one at Morecambe. So hopefully I'll be seeing alwaysright (and his Southern germs) and a couple of the GNE tomorrow night.
I woke this morning to about 3 inches of snow in Leeds so was worried of what the weather might be in Rochdale tomorrow night. However, I had to go to a colleagues house about 15 miles away and there was not a snow flake to be seen. So hopefully I will see some of you in The Cemetery tomorrow night for a pre match drink!!!
