Another one... we'll soon have half of the squad GK's Duo tracking Robinson Sky Sports understands Queens Park Rangers and West Ham are eyeing up moves for Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson. Robinson is expected to be one of several big names to leave Blackburn following their relegation from the Premier League. The 32-year-old was one of Rovers' shining lights last season despite their struggles at the wrong end of the table. West Ham are drawing up a shortlist of goalkeeping targets as doubts continue to surround the future of Rob Green with the England international out of contract this summer. Hammers boss Sam Allardyce will be keen to bring in an experienced custodian to fill the void if Green leaves and is a huge fan of Robinson, having worked with him during his time in charge of Blackburn. QPR boss Mark Hughes is also thought to be keen to bolster his goalkeeping options after seeing his side narrowly avoid relegation on the final day of the season and he is keeping tabs on Robinson's situation at Ewood Park. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11711/7770715/
I would be happy with Robinson. Prefer him to Green actually and is 4 years younger than Shay Given. Blackburn wont pay his wages so he is definitely going to leave and for a free transfer it would be great business.
Wow i thought Robinson was alot older then 32. I would deffo prefer Robinson out of Green, Given saw him make some outstanding saves last season and if it wasn't for him Blackburn would have gone down a lot sooner then when they did.
I dont want him but Im happy that we are being linked with every goalie under the sun, that means Hughes knows we need a new one. However Id like to see someone who is not in their 30s.
Who would you like to see flyer i just dont think there are many keepers in there 20's with the priemier league experience we need avaiable. Just think Robinson would bring a wealth of experience.
We could go abroad, would you take Vorm? No one had heard of him until Swansea signed him. Hed have cost 3 times as much if he was English. I would go for a cheeky loan bid of Courtois (who won the Euro cup on loan) and I think Hennessey would be a better signing long term as well as hes about 25.
Please God No. Remember the "bobble" he just stood there staring at the ground like it was going to ****ing apologise. For the love of god NO.
Why don't we just spend the money and make wigan a decent offer for Al-habsi. Unless we can find better he's my 1st choice.
What i meant was we didnt know about him. Hughes has got the contacts to get a foreign goalie we know nothing about and for him to become one of the best goalies in the league. Its better than getting a goalie in his mid 30s who will only get worse. I dont want Al Habsi, he reminds me of camp, bas positioning leads to the odd highlight save but hes really not that good overall.
