Robinson close to return to action By West London Sport 04/01/2016 please log in to view this image Jack Robinson is close to a return to action after 10 months on the sidelines with a knee injury. The 22-year-old left-back, who joined QPR in the summer of 2014, suffered cruciate ligament damage last March while playing for Huddersfield. He is yet to make a first-team appearance for Rangers, having joined Huddersfield on a season-long loan immediately after being signed from Liverpool. Robinson, a former England Under-21 international, was considered for selection for a friendly against Reading last week. In the end he did not feature in the match, but he could play some part in another QPR friendly on Tuesday – again against Reading. Italian right-back Marco Motta, who is on trial with the R’s, is expected to feature in the game.
Welcome news. Robinson has youth on his side to recover from the layoff and he's also well versed in this division. Hope he becomes our regular left back for the next few seasons
This is good news. Surely with Robinson, Yun and Kpekawa available plus Hill as cover, we can send Konchesky back?
Great news indeed. I hope the fellow is eased back into the first team fringe and challenges Paul Konchesky for that first team left-back spot.
We'll probably loan him out a couple of times then sell him in a year on the basis that he couldn't get in the team and was never good enough.
It would be a shame if his progression was to unfold as you describe. Pragmatically that might happen. It's one probably outcome. But let's hope that his injury has not eroded the latent talent that made the club move for him in 2014.
