I think HNM could prove to be one of the 'ones that got away'. Nige didn't seem to have time for him. I agree the emergence of Scott was probably a factor but I still think HNM had something to give. Maybe he upset NP - or was homesick for France - we don't know what went on behind the scenes.

Bristol City’s Alex Scott should perhaps think twice if Tottenham come calling this summer: Opinion The midfielder will be a wanted man this summer - but Spurs are perhaps not the best destination for him... https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...ham-hotspur-come-calling-this-summer-opinion/
Come on all you City historians you can help me out here with a memory I have stuck in the back of my brain especially after seeing the team photo just posted. I seem to remember being at Ashton Gate, back in the day, for what I believe was Booby Gould's first appearance for Bristol City and I can still see him posing for the cameras right in front of me as if it were yesterday. Now here's where it may come undone but did he get sent off in that game so very long ago???? Amazing how memories flood back when you see old photos like that and I hope my memory is still intact. On the memory front I have another about a player call Bowyer whose dad had a pub in Bridgwater and on what I believe was his debut also he scored from about 35 yards out with a screamer in front of the East End. I think he vanished into history fairly soon after. Please tell me I'm not going downhill on the memory slope.
I saw Eddie Woods and John Emanuel play in a reserve game at the Gate before they signed full time. Both came from Ferndale, a semi pro outfit in south Wales. I thought that JE was a really classy midfielder.
The Ref didn't see the incident ? He booked him ffs. Have a look at the 'violence'. We need a parliamentary enquiry.
The season is near as dam it over for us.. Nige needs to give the kids a taste of championship football imo
been over for the last 3 or 4 games! There was a point when safety was looking to be [ 22nd/23rd/24th ] 50 -52 points plus, now 2 teams need to get better than 47/48 points

Alex Scott: Why Bristol City’s Press-Resistant Teenager Has Plenty of Premier League Suitors https://theanalyst.com/eu/2023/03/alex-scott-bristol-city-press-resistant-teenager/ Wow what a read, what a player.
His signing a few years back now is proving a very shrewd move. Nige can count himself very fortunate to have inherited such talent.
