We have to keep this guy, he's just scored two goals for Holland today. You know you have a true quality player when he scores for both club and country on a consistent basis, which is what RVP is currently doing. Even Messi doesn't do that! If we do lose RVP, it would be our biggest loss, bigger than losing Henry, Fabregas, and Nasri. RVP is a true world class player in the same league as the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, we have gold with him, and no money we'd get from selling him would be able to properly replace him.

  2. His goals today are just going to increase the pressure on Wenger, which is a good thing. He needs to get his finge rout and strengthen the side.

if that Hazard will cost £35m - then RVP is worth £100m.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's only Northern Ireland though. RvP should have scored more.

Doesn't matter, many other top players have represented their countries against sh!t teams and have failed to score. RVP has been CONSISTENTLY scoring for both Arsenal and Holland, so this is simply a continued trend with him, weak team or not.

If anything, we need RvP to have a terrible euro's, so nobody will want to sign him, forcing him to sign a new contract

Even if he has a poor tournament it still wont stop City from at least attempting to buy him

I thought Mancini said they can't afford him? His only real suitors are Juventus and Real madrid.

I don't think a bad euro tournament from RVP is going to make nobody want to sign him.

100% behind that <ok> if we sold RVP, we would undoubtedly be weaker.

You're also right to point out that we wouldn't be able to properly replace him. Even if we got top dollar, finding someone who could come in and replace what he did ???

Even at best, that's a task that we could do without this summer when we're trying to strengthen the squad.

I see no value in selling RVP - and I also think the club feel the same way.
It's my belief that RVP will be an Arsenal player next season, regardless of whether he signs a contract this summer - and I think the club are right to fight to keep him here <ok>

I'd rather sell him now than lose him for free next season, it's poor business to let a player of that calibre just walk away.

Van Persie has not really been playing that special for Holland. I thought he was disappointing in the 2010 World Cup. Was never sharp and only got one goal in the entire thing. Maybe, going into that competition after being out for most of the previous season was not ideal but considering his talent he should have done a lot better. Klaas Jan Huntelaar outscored Robin in the Euro's qualifier and according to one of the big reporters in Holland, a lot of their fans would like to see Huntelaar play instead of RVP. The Euro's could change everything, but I still think we are waiting to see the very best of RVP in a Holland shirt.

Huntelaar has a far better international scoring record than RvP too. RvP is obviously the better player though, Huntelaar is like Gomez, seems to offer nothing, yet scores huge quantities of goals.

  14. Huntelaar has a better record - but not far better, when you consider RVP has played many games for the Dutch on the wing.

The attached is quite encouraging - RVP spoke with Henry before he jetted off to the Euro's. I hope Thierry told him to stay at Arsenal.

One thing is for sure - I hope to god we never sign Huntelaar. He sounds like a right prick.

An injury prone striker at 29 years of age. Of course...

But his age and history will have a bearing on the price as well as the contract situation.
