So it look like the Gary Monk move to Bristol City is back on..... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/football-news/2012/08/25/swansea-city-captain-garry-monk-on-verge-of-bristol-city-move-91466-31692571/ The guy has been on the field over 200 times for the Swans since joining in 2004 but only appeared 9 times in our first year in the top flight. His chances of playing in the first 11 have now become close to zero so can't blame him for wanting to move to a club where his experience will make him top dog again ...at least for a while. Good luck YJB.
Legend is a word that thrown around too easily these days but one of the best both on and off the pitch. You're a long time not playing so I can't blame him .I'd love to see him back here in a supporting role .How quick your fortunes can change
how can you make a comment like that musty after the loyal service garry has given to the club and one of the best captains we have ever had....Ill second what kangaroo said and hope he comes back when our academy is up and running....
loyal service is gr8 dai, will never get a gig in the top team, get ur badges gazza and come back but ffs dai the past is the past, the guy is past it in the prem league
If he does go then he will go as a legend for everything he has done with the club and will be always regarded as the great captain that he was
Legend of a player for us but he isnt going to be getting a game for us anytime soon...would be a quality signing for Bristol!
Gary Monk has been a very loyal servant to the club, a good old fashioned pro, never to grumble always dignified. Whilst I would be sorry to see him leave, and would like him to stay, but he won't get any games for us, so a move is the logical option. If he does move It goes with my sincrest thanks for the many years of service to our great club. I do hope that he comes back here in a coaching role for the youngsters, as who's better to have coaching you.
What a block he made in the play off final! Without him we would not be in the Prem, good luck to him!
He never had any pace in his prime, but at 33 what was he thinking, to try and get into Laudrups team? Good servant and all that, but a man has to know his limitations, if he gets a couple of seasons at bristol good luck to him!.................
I agree with the sentiments great servant to the club a true Jack, but Musty does have a point. Would much rather him stay and work in a coaching capacity for the club.
Think he sees himself having another season playing, and as its up to him you got to respect that. But I do hope he will come back in a coaching role for us from maybe next season.
Firstly: Only if one is on offer at this particular time. Secondly: He clearly thinks he's got another season or two in him. You can't make him stay.
