Hi Guys Bluebird fan here. I was reading the Western Mail this morning & in particular the article on the perceived reception that you will give Martinez this weekend. I had to visit your board and post this. Pre-Martinez; Swansea were playing average football with good results under Kenny Jacket. Once Martinez came to you he completely changed the style of football that you played. This is the important bit... you still play the same style of football (it was adopted by Paulo Sousa and Brendan Rogers. It could be said that these manager too played/and are playing their own brand of football. If this is true then credit goes also to Huw Jenkins for his appointment of both managers so that continuity, in football terms, prevailed. I have to say that watching you guys in the PL is strange. I found myself in front of the TV on Monday wanting you to do well but also wanting Man City to score (I'm sure you know where I'm coming from given our rivalry). You played some really good football in the first half and I wish you the best of luck for the rest of the season (I think )
Yea bobby deserves huge credit for what he did for us. Shaped the way we play. I will give him a warm reception tomorrow. I know what you mean about wanting them to score. Thought the same about the West Ham game
You're largely right, Taffy and I'll forgive you for Monday night. I'd have felt the same way truth be told. I think Martinez will get a roasting from the majority of the crowd tomorrow which I personally think is very wrong. Remember, most of these ST holders have come out of the woodwork only recently. Where were they when we were battling to survive barely 8 years ago? At home with their Man U replica shirts on I suspect. I fully accept that Martinez should have handled his departure and the lead up to it very differently but we should show the world we're big enough to move on. Martinez was an important part of our history and his legacy is still seen on the pitch. Those who revile the man may not like it but that's a fact.
62 views & only two people man enough to admit it. What's wrong with the rest of you? Without Martinez there would be no Premier League football. FACT!
It's not anything to with admitting anything, this has been done to death most recently in the last couple of days, there is nothing new here so people can't be bothered to post!
My disapointment ended a long time ago and we wouldn't be where we are today without him so i hope RM gets the best of receptions of our fans.
I'd give him a good reception if I was there but sadly I am unable to attend. I fear that once again the nationwide problem of "idiots being louder than decent folk" will prevail once more.
