Quite harsh for me, definately. Yes they are in and around the relegation zone, but what do they expect for a team that has just come up from the Championship?

    Opinions on this fellow not606ers?

I hate saying this about another club, but I really hope they get relegated.

    I find this absolutely staggering.

He's done a great job, if you look at the squad, it's not premier league class, and i don't see them going down, or didn't.

Strikes me that there usually stable chairman has hit the panic button here, and i think he may live to regret it.

He's not even sacked him, he's on 'gardening leave'.

    Ridiculous.

    Houghton.
    Big Sam.
    Di Matteo.

Absolutely ridiculous decisions, did the chariman expect WBA to be fighting for a Euro spot or something?

Still, he's lost his job. A job he was doing a good job at, a disgrace IMO.

    Agreed mate.

He'll do a good job for a good club, the losers in this will be WBA.

We went something like 13 games last year without a win and did we get rid of the manager? Thank Goodness, no, and look at where we are now. I think lots of people, especially many club chairmen, should start using SAFC as an example of how to run a Football Club.

    Absolutely mate.

We weren't far off the point, indeed many of us were suggesting that Bruce should go.

I wasn't one of them, but it was getting difficult to defend him, my god i'm glad we kept faith with him!

WBA's slump isn't even close to what we faced, i don't see them going down at all, or didn't.

shocking, its not like he has been given multi millions to strengthen the team, , im hoping a decent club takes him on as an assistant and he can build up, not given enough time,
plus also on his cv one helluva player,
man to take over, chris houghton, decent manager, decent guy, deserves better than the way he was treat

Noooooooooooo! All the experts used to say that Charlton were the ideal examle of how to run a club, but look at them now. Let's keep SAFC as our little secret.

I liked Roberto and as a manager, thought his team were very good considering the budget allowed to him,
knee jerk reactions seldom work, unless theyve got that bloke from Real Madrid secretly lined up.
still a disgrace, but I am sure the vacancy will be filled, by a manager who has always loved The Baggies.or anyother
team that suits them at the time, 2011 a great year for disloyalty.............or what?

I watched the whole of their game midweek against Wigan. They play some decent football at WBA and I thought that RDM was doing a really good job there. Regardless of their current league position it seemed to me that he had done a lot to improve the overall profile of the Baggies and sacking him is a retrograde step. From the sound of things they have sacked him without considering his replacement, although the obvious replacement if he's interested (and he will be) will be Allardyce.

Once again a bad footballing decision Fergie or Jose couldn't get more out of what the guy had to work with.

Lets not forget they were talking about getting rid of Fergie at Utd in the early days, if I remember correctly one of the turning points was when he brought in a cheap no nonsense defender.
A defender who was willing to put his face in where others wouldn't put their boots.
Trying to remember his name, Brice? Burce?

I think its harsh sacking him, although I do think they will go down with or without him in charge.

I would not have been too bothered about Big Sam if they had somebody else lined up if I was a Blackburn fan. They are still 11th somehow though, I thought they would drop like a stone.

Agree the sacking on De Matteo looks harsh, will all depend on who they bring in and if they stay up
