Great video: From this legend, to what we have now in Gervinho, almost brings a tear to the eye. Really shows how far we have regressed, and some of the pathetic arguments being put on this forum too, like oh we're still in this competition, or oh we're still in that competition, or oh we're still fighting for 4th, bla bla bla is a further indictment of how far we've regressed from the days of Pires and co. For ****s sake, to even think that some on here to try to defend Gervinho when we look at what we had in Pires, is absolutely pathetic. That's why fans like me get very frustrated, because unlike a few on here, we haven't lowered our standards, and still expect the best and top quality, like Pires and co, not ****ing Gervinho and Ramsey! WE WANT OUR ARSENAL BACK!
Even during our barren years, we played magnificent football, the best in the land, so it was still a treat to watch us, compared to the rubbish we have to watch now:
The younger fans miss out on Arsenal's far worse barren runs and have become spoilt by AW's successes
I want the Arsenal that had great players, the Arsenal that was winning trophies, the Arsenal that other teams feared, the Arsenal that played the best football, the Arsenal that ripped teams apart, the Arsenal that competed with the best, the Arsenal that was seen as one of the best, the Arsenal that didn't regularly sell it's best players to it's rivals. Even a lot of fans FROM THE OLDER GENERATIONS, yours, are saying this is the WORST ARSENAL team they've seen.
This is nowhere near the worst Arsenal team i've ever seen and the same goes from anyone from my generation. Why is it "Our Arsenal" when we're winning trophies but not when we're on a barren run ?
This ain't my Arsenal because the likes of Gervinho, Ramsey, do not deserve to be at Arsenal. This ain't my Arsenal, because I could give a f--k about the Arsenal 'brand' or all our positive finances that we're told about, we've turned into a PLC rather than a football team with all this talk of brand and finances! This board and manager keep ignoring the pleas of the fans. Fact is, we should've never regressed like we have, going from where we were, to where we are now, is unacceptable, how can you accept going from the invincibles, to the rubbish we have now? I don't accept that.
Support the club through thick and thin. Through Invincibles and Trophyless years. Through the sublime and the awful. Don't ****ing say its not "My Arsenal" through the bad time but claim it as yours when we are enjoying success, that's what glory-hunters do.
I think the legitimacy of the complaints about our Arsenal(sic) come into question when you're talking solely about trophies and quality of football. It makes you sound like a gloryhunter. The problem people should have with how the club is run is that there is plenty of budget for Arsenal to make sure there best players aren't continually running down their contracts and leaving, that they could spend big every now and then to replace important players with other established quality players and still after that they could pay off their stadium loans on time(instead of ahead of time) and reap a sizable profit. If they're not going to do that then they should stop charging some of the highest ticket prices when the profits are not reinvested and the quality of football is not the best in the league. We charge a lot at Spurs but our matchday income is always going to be much smaller because of the size of our stadium, Arsenal are much better positioned as a club to spend but your board are reluctant. Frustrations with that isn't fickle whereas just being pissed off because you've gone a bit backwards is.
There was a march before the Swansea game organised by the BSM.Their rallying cry was "We want our Arsenal back".Some of their arguments i totally agree with.A singing section in the Clock End,ST's to be available for the Clock End,introduction of an ST light which doesn't include cup credits, move away fans to the top tier.
I'm not sure if you are allowed to do that, I think clubs either have to offer a range of prices for away fans if some are going to have to be placed in the most expensive seats of the ground. I certainly hope you're not allowed to do that anyway, some of the pictures I've seen of the away section at the San Siro you're so bloody far away and covered in nets that it doesn't even look like you're in a stadium and you couldn't even see the goal beneath you! Plus, would you want to be sat in the bit below 5,000 away fans? I prefer to be able to see them
I was at the San Siro this year, the viewing from up there is actually quite good, I thought it wouldn't be from what I saw on youtube etc, it seemed so far, but when you're there, it's actually very good!
omfg! How many times must you happ clappy positive types be told. You are the minority and should not express your opinions of support on an Arsenal supporters forum. Stop it right now!!!
I happen to believe that the noisy Wenger out brigade are in the minority and haven't really thought through the issues very well, believing that sacking him will somehow make an instant improvement. There are a litany of clubs where that has been proved to have the exact opposite effect.
