Looking at the table, the three teams in the bottom three have 19 points or fewer, and I cannot see any of them taking more than 13 points - four wins and a draw - from their last 15 games. That means 33 points will be enough to stay up this season, the fewest since 2010 when teams needed 31 for safety. Run-in: Sunderland still have to play six of the other seven teams in the bottom eight, and only one of those games is away from home. Sunderland have not won enough games this season but to get to 33 points they only need three wins and a draw. Defoe will help get the wins they need. Verdict: Staying up
I'll sue the bugger if he's wrong. Did you notice that Lawro has got us down to win 2-0 tomorrow at Swansea? Kinell!!
Not sure about that to be honest..Burnley are very unpredictable and have been picking up some decent results and QPR have a new manager which often changes teams fortunes...I just hope we go on a decent run and get ourselves out of the equation.
Could well happen because no one knows which teams will go down. I just look at squads and I don't see much quality in qpr and Burnley.
I hope you are right as I want to see 3 teams getting isolated down there as long as we are not one of them..
Something seems wrong in the qpr changing room if you believe half of what is said. The spirit in the team doesnt seem right. Shame really. As cockney teams go, I have a soft spot for them. Used to go to some games there when I first moved to cockneyland. Burnley will stay up. For me it will be Leicester, QPR and Hull / Villa
I think it be nip and tuck down there like. Iam more interested in the cup than the league if iam being honest.
A cup run and another trip to Wembley would be great (although I hate the thought of them playing the semi finals there), but I would enjoy it far better if we could do it as a mid table team rather than stuck in a relegation battle..
Its 3 from 5. Our run in of home games shoild see us safe, Pulis at WBA will see them safe. Villa are a big risk. Burnley like to attack, and have a chance, Hull in big trouble, as are QPR where things dont seem like as been mentioned, Leicester are gonme.
They should rotate them between us, Newc, Man U, Villa, Arse, and when expanded Lpool and Man City. Wembly fuinal only.
Aye it is **** with the semi finals at Wembley but the good news about that is you get more tickets than the final.
Why is that? dropping out of the EPL would be catastrophic for us, both financially and in terms of players leaving the club, it would set us back 5 years. A cup run would bring in revenue but nothing compared to staying in the EPL. The next 4 games will go a long way to deciding our fete, win a few and we'll be fine, lose a few and we could be dragged right back in the mix. Personally I think we'll get the necessary points to pull away from the bottom and then pick up a few more points in the remaining fixtures.
I rather win something than just making up the numbers. Sunderland will always be fighting to stay up. Just the way it is at this moment in the time.
This for me. Win the next few games and confidence will be sky high and way off the bottom, Then think about the cup. Every team other than the top 4 are making the numbers up, id' rather make up the numbers in the EPL than be competing for a promotion slot out of the championship, then have to start the rebuilding process all over again.
LOL that didn't make sence. At this moment in time we are always fighting to stay up. That's what I ment to say LOL still in bed man
