Er...thanks for the memories? http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20130115/american-departs-the-club_2247585_3042324
As I said elsewhere JW, RR was another player that never really got much of a look in. At a time when we're crying out for wingers, we've just let one go. Heyho, moving on.
True and it’s a shame that it didn’t work out for him. He obviously needs to be replaced with a better winger (or 3). But given that his contract expires in the summer it’s better to give him a chance to find a new club now and get his wages off the books. If we can’t offload Connelly and Rachubka by the end of the transfer window then it would make sense to release them too.
Maybe he was useless. After all, two managers had a look at him. Pity it wasnt spotted though before wasting cash on him
Exactly, he can't have been good enough but I fully agree, why did we bother signing him up to just warm the bench... he didn't even do that really did he!? All in the past now I suppose!
Quite simply Rogers couldnt have been good enough. Thats what you get shopping in the bargain basement though I guess. Some come off, some dont. Good luck to THE Robbie Rogers though
Makes you wonder how we go about assessing these lads in the first place. A few youtube clips, Run around thorpe arch, juggle a few balls. How can experienced managers be so easily fooled. To go from thinking they're worth a contract to realising within days they're a pile of ****e and wont be allowed kick a ball for us. For **** sake, we've a whole spare squad of useless gits assembled by two managers that probably haven't played twenty games between the lot of them. What happened to the mantra, we wont sign players unless they improve the team?
Rogers, Nunez, that other Yank I have forgotten his name - Mike someone, Mika Varynen etc We pick up these players, and the only thing I can imagine is we expect that we can improve them and sell them on. I can't think of another reason for taking them on.
I thought Nunez was alright, just wasn't played in the right position, but had loads of potential. Remember, Gradel was all energy and no end product the first season he was with us, then developed into a lower league Ronaldo.
He was all energy and little end product when he left as well to be fair, most of his goals were miskicks. It just so happened a lot of teams struggled to deal with a fast winger who ate too much sugar The reason he was so successful imo is because of his confidence level to run at a defence
I think a lot of his success came from hyping up the rest of the team and tiring out opposition from his ridiculous energy levels. Also he had plenty of end product, 18 goals from the wing and a lot of them were strikers finishes
Well, I think it depends what you class as end product. The quality of the end product wasn't fantastic imo but the result of it was
