He was with us for 6 years in his first stay and his goal count is up there with Sheringham's. Apart from that, I fully agree with the first bit.
He was, Luke, until he joined us and stayed for 6 successful years. He probably made a bad decision to then move to Liverpool, but 6 full seasons at one club is a pretty healthy commitment in this day and age.
Keane scored over 100 goals for us. Hard to see that as anything other than making a mark. 10th on our all-time scorers list, only behind Defoe and Sheringham in recent years, with 122 goals in total. He's probably prouder of his international record though, which is fair enough. A true legend for his country.
Spurs are the only club he stayed at for any length of time and the only one he scored a decent amount of goals for. When you compare his consistent record of goalscoring at international level over more than a decade, his club career has been an anti-climax, even though I concede he did fairly well at Spurs over a period of time.

I worked in the Midlands in the 90's and used to go to Molineux quite regularly, I remember the excitement around the place when Graham Taylor convinced Keane to join Wolves when a host of other clubs were interested. I got quite close to a few within the club and there were noises that he was a bit of a livewire and possibly disruptive in the locker room - the fact Tottenham (when he signed for you first time round) were his 6th club before his 22nd birthday suggests some of this was true. Clearly he settled at WHL until Liverpool called perhaps surprisingly at a time when Tottenham changed managers as regularly as do now, so he was in a good place around 10 years ago, but I'm not convinced a player of his quality should be changing clubs a dozen or more times in his career, his international record is astonishing and confirms the talent he had/has.
