With news that the Indian Premier League has been postponed,, that now means that Robbie Fowler is a Free Agent. Would it be a good or even wise move for Nick Barmby to try and get Fowler here for the run in to this season ? I know, I know, i can hear the voices of decent already and the derision at such a thought,, but as many moan and groan about the lack of goal scoring by Hull City Could / Would Robbie Fowler be able to add the extra goals needed even as an impact sub in the last 30mins or so of games ? imo, worth a shout as nothing to lose, surely......?
Raises an eyebrow but if he can barely hack it in the thai league he'll be way out of his depth in English football.
According to Barmby we do not have a problem scoring goals,so why would we need him? I believe that he is wrong and his belief will cost us a place in the top 6
could that fact be down to motivation though ? like i posted, its an interesting one But one player that could still find the net especially with the chances that we are creating at the moment.
do you honestly think that ? openly NB has to say that but in private i bet NB is ragging at the missed chances. another reason why i still think that Nick was wrong to stop playing from the bench.
Totally agree. If there's one player we are absolutelu screaming out for to come on and change a game in the last 20 minutes it's Barmby
He has said it himself has he not? If he does not mean it then why say it. I think he is either nieve or we are being lied to by the club as to there being money available, I for one would like to know which it really is.
He's busy in his allotment, last I heard. With Robbie Fowler at least if you carved out a goal scoring opportunity I'd be 80% confident of him scoring. Put our current strikers in that same position, I'd only be 20% confident.
I know what you mean, against Brighton when Stewart went clean through with the entire half to run at the keeper I didn't even get out of my seat, you just don't expect us to score even the best chances any more.
Pauline Fowler is definitely dead, Arthur Fowler is only fictionally dead and their son Robbie Fowler is alive and well, but hasn't run up a decent goal tally in a season since 2004/5, so won't be joining us.
as my favourite ever non hull city player, id love it, but in reality i couldnt see it working out, probably past it 5 or 6 years ago im afraid.
Totally agree. If there's one player we are absolutelu screaming out for to come on and change a game in the last 20 minutes it's Barmby Never a truer word spoken. At least 50% of all those balls that have flashed across the 6 yard box in recent games would have been put in by NB.
