According to sky sports we are going to Sign him on loan . would be surprised if we got another striker
I am pleased with this signing, if we lost Keds to injury we do not have another striker that is regularly scoring so this does make sense, seen him play and is quality, think MA has done done well to get him as I know other clubs higher up the league were chasing him. Hope it comes off. Another option for Saturday and think we need to attack them as they are letting in goals, not a game to sit back and defend they are to good going forward. UTG!!
Findley has a decent record and I warmly welcome him to the cause - but - just an observation ; He isn't the tallest ( 5' 9" ) - don't we already have a striker of that stature whose record is just as impressive - Birchall ! In view of our great start I am hesitant to be 'critical' of Martin Allen - but I would have thought that it would have been the ideal opportunity in the second half of the Barnet and Bristol Rovers games to bring on Birchall for 45 minutes to get some proper match 'awareness'
should findley come aboard, which i hope happens, with him being a USA internatioal and higher grade quality striker. as mentioned he sounds like he just needs his confidence back to shine and he would sure get that at gillingham ! as for what you say always, i think birchall would be just as important as findley in the set up but expect birchall to go out on loan and comeback fitter and ready to fire. also see it more of a case of burton, kedwell, birchall and findley should it happen ? rather than strevens in that mix, just expect strevens to play more outwide on either flank for us now. So on a whole robbie findley would in question be a real coup and a handshake should go to hess as well for getting it done ? anynews why jackman and millier are not getting a look in..think with our knocks in the team it will be interesting to see if they are involved saturday ???
This is a video of his goals in the USA. Looks plenty good enough for L2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-tK80wQIJk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
He may lack goals but that is at a higher level and there is more to a player than goals, I believe he is fast from what I remember seeing him on TV and he looks exciting but at this level he will be amazing, I am shocked we pulled this one off.
Shocked to say the least, shoud bang the goals in at this level. Very Very good signing well done Mad Dog and Co !!
I think that hopefully we will keep him for more than a month, him and Keds should work well together, I believe he could set up Keds well.
Findley, Kedwell, Burton with Strevens and Birchall also to call on plus Weston can play up top! The front line is rather impressive!
From the youtube video that Vinney posted he very much looks like how Cody Mac would play and score goals. Now that can't be too bad can it? However again its a signing that we've made that is entirely necessary, especially as we have Strevens, Birchall and Miller all waiting in the wings.
any chance you get to improve your football team. thats allens mentlity it seems, this is a low risk signing given we have plenty of option but he gives us some extra pace and allows weston to be depolyed on the wing where he is more dangerous and will see more of the ball. secondly weston does have a niggle currently so could be cover or him as otherwise we only have 3 big strikers and birchal who allen seems to want to see something from before he gts put in
Findley played 50 minutes today. After only 5 minutes I was in love with him ! ( in a football fan sense ) - if you thought Myles Weston was good you haven't seen anything !! - for those that weren't at Port Vale - you should be in for a treat if he continues as he played today.
Someone put on 365 that they have heard from a reliable source that we are paying 70% of Robbie's wages. Forest wouldn't let him go to a rival Championship club, and none of the L1 clubs that were after him could afford him. If he likes it in Kent,he can stay on loan, and we can buy him in January for 250k. The poster says its up to you if you believe it,but he thinks its true. I would have thought we could afford to buy him, although his wages may be a problem. The worry is,if he does well for us,then someone else may out bid us,but if he likes it at Gills and we are still on couse for promotion, maybe that would swing it in our favour.
