I've never been that excited by him, I'm afraid. Would be delighted if he has a cracker of a season, but not sure he's a huge step up from Kenny. Let's face it, there was hardly a clamour for his services when the Hammers went down.
Didn't see the high lights but understood from headline that he made an error. Let's give him time. Remember watching Kenny in friendly at LR and thought he looked a bit shaky then. Can't remember who we were playing.
Definatley better than Kenny, who was awful at times last season. People seem to concentrate on one mistake - but look at the save he made in his debut in the previous game - a great tip round the post.
Tonight looked like lack of concentration.Straightforward cross, dropped.Lets hope he doesnt start suffering a lack of confidence.
He made a clanger coming for a cross and get the blame. Kenny never comes for a cross and they score (see Dzeko in the last game) and he never gets any blame, well apart from me. Green will cost us less goals if he comes for everything and drops 1 or 2 than Kenny would being superglued to his line.
Totally agree Northolt. Let's hope that it's just nerves and lack of confidence, better to get it out of the way now then we can look forward to some great displays. ..............still nervous about our defensive capabilities though.
This is so difficult for me but Flyer is spot on here. If a Keeper comes for 10 and drops say two clangers resulting in one goal, he'll be remembered for being at fault for that goal not the 8 or 9 he and his defence cleared. If he never came off his line, maybe 5 or 6 goals would go in but he'd not be remembered for fu*king up at all! Remember Gabbidon had a terrible pre-season last year and looked all at sea but to be fair to him, he wasn't the worst for us last season.
For what it's worth chaps and chapesses, when he was with us, (Norwich), I always felt he was a good shotstopper, but as a total keeper he didn't always fill me with confidence. Reactions were good, but when it came to commanding his area, as a good keeper should, he just didn't do it for me. Hope he does well for you guys thouigh. Good luck for the season.
Gabbidon was pretty much at sea post pre-season too. I don't feel comforted, if that's what you were trying to do, Swords!
what is it with keepers(especially ours) that dont want to or cant come for crosses.Puts so much pressure on defense. Dont they practice it??
Maestro, I see Holty has started a little uprising on your Board. Any chance of it gaining any momentum?
