As a few of you know, I went home and away for years watching Burrows generation at the Rhinos. Didn't know Rob personally but certainly had the pleasure of a handful of chats over the years when the lads used to come and have a chat whilst fans were queuing for finals tickets. Had a drink one night with him at the man of steel awards too as the Rhinos lads invited some of us to join their table after the ceremony. Always come across as a genuine lad, very chatty, cheeky but always had time for everyone around him. They all did to be fair. I've ran a couple of times for MND for him too. Sad day. Thoughts go to his lovely family. Hopefully the money raised under his name goes to help others and his name shall live on through his ongoing foundation.
Sad day and I’m sure his heart must have been breaking inside. Sad but kind of glad it’s all over and the suffering can stop
It was horrible seeing the decline of such a great. A very sad day but at long last a release from the suffering. R.I.P. Rob and sincerest condolences to your family.
Only little in size, everything else he was towering....got a rhinos shirt with his name on, proud to wear it
RIP Rob. A friend of mine was diagnosed with a form MND just over two years ago, he had to give up work as his hands weren't steady enough(he was a skilled engineer), his walking is getting worse, when he can get up and out he needs a stick, he has to keep to a strict diet, if he has a few pints that knocks him out for a few days and he is only 41. Basically he is just existing until things get worse, a very cruel disease.
Top bloke from what I understand. Terrible, terrible disease. Turns out we went to the same High School, though a good generation apart. RIP Rob.
Never been a big fan of Rugby League but it shows what a giant of a player and a human being he was that his demise has had such an effect on so many. A sad loss. RIP Rob.
The lad had a heart of a lion, brilliant rugby player, also a mention of his caring wife who has been by his side 24/7 RIP Rob
RIP Rob and thoughts are with your wife who has been a brick over the past few years But let’s not forget Kevin Sinfield who has been a true friend in the full sense of the word.
