The Road to Wembley – Third Qualifying Round

This is the fifth round of the competition and the victors from this round will be just one more win away from the First Round Proper. There are no newcomers in this round; the Blue Square Premier sides join in the Fourth Qualifying Round

Focus on Gloucester City. (some of this info is courtesy of wikipedia)
The Tigers were formed in 1883 as Gloucester FC. They changed to Gloucester City in 1902 and again, to Gloucester YMCA from 1910 to 1925, before going back to ‘City’. They joined the Southern League in 1939 and remained within those leagues until 2009 when they gained promotion from the Southern League Premier Division. However, because of geographical necessity they were promoted to Conference North, rather than South.
They have been unable to play at their Meadow Park home since massive floods in 2007. They have since ground shared with Cirencester Town and Forest Green Rovers. This season they are playing their home games at Cheltenham Town’s Whaddon Road.
They reached Round Two in 1989-90 and led Cardiff City 2-0 at Ninian Park with five minutes remaining, before the home side hit two late goals. The Bluebirds won the replay 1-0 at Meadow Park.

    Cup Run so far:
    Second Qualifying Round
    Whitchurch Utd 0-2 Gloucester City

    Last Season
Gloucester fell at the first fence last year, going down 0-2 to Weston-Super-Mare in the Second Qualifying Round

    Random Fact
In 1952 Gloucester City enjoyed their highest ever attendance when 10,500 spectators saw them beat Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 in a friendly. The Spurs side included superstars of the day such as Alf Ramsey, Ted Ditchburn, Charlie Withers and Les Medley.
