Just listening to talksport, and a Spurs Muppet just phoned in and said that Spurs were after Mahrez! but he also said he would not get in the Spurs team and would only be a bench warmer
... they are still a little bitter because Harry Kane never quite managed to break into our first team during his loan spell with us
It could read as "ive had no calls from other clubs yet, so as it stands, he'll run his contract down"
Hey, I don't blame you lads. I would be marvelling in what's happening if it was my club too Don't think you'll be getting 50m for him like mate...
..we removed a £30 million clause from his first contract when he signed his second .. rumour has it that it was increased. .. great business if true .. best player I have ever seen at the club and I started in the 1969/70 season ..
I can well imagine. Just because a release clause has been removed doesn't mean you will get above 50m. I reckon it will be 25m - 35m, it's hard to tell actually. You know the drill with modern day football mate. Big club unsettles player and turns his head, big club puts in a low offer, Leicester reject offer, Mahrez kicks up a fuss and hands in transfer request, bigger offer comes in and negotiations begin, big club gets him at a fair price as it's either lose him or keep an unhappy player in the squad.
Didnt work for Spurs with Berehino last summer, or Stones to Chelsea... Seeming £30m seems like it could be a starting bid, it could easily reach £50m if the european big boys get involved. http://www.espnfc.co.uk/blog/transf...d-tottenham-offer-29-million-for-riyad-mahrez
..can't disagree that it is a common occurrence. .. but I do have a lot of respect for the lad as an individual. .. he is incredibly humble and has shown no traits like Berahinho etc .. so I remain optimistic and will just enjoy his incredible talent whilst he is with us ..
13 goals & 7 assists. Why do they always forget an important stat like assists ? Anyway, only time will tell & if they are offering 30 mil now they can come back with 40 in the summer if he keeps going like he is. Do you know what´s funny ? I would say stick the money & keep the player, that´s were LCFC are now, but I guess if RM wants to leave then I guess you´d take the money. I just hope that if he does go in the summer we´ll use the time to find a replacement.
Why are opposition fans so incessant when telling us that we're going to lose our best players? We may do, we may not. Que sera sera. We'll enjoy the ride without getting wound up with the will he/won't gossip surrounding the potential transfers of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez thanks.
I thinks these fans of other team think they are telling us some breaking news that shock horror our best players may leave!!!! No **** sherlocks lol That's football, it happens. What will be will be. 30-40 million at least for a player that cost 400k. Wow. The difficult task as always is finding suitable replacements
Well come the summer Ings will probably be off so he could be one of them and Carillo on a free looks possible...
He personally said it a few weeks back too http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/dec/16/riyad-mahrez-leicester-january-transfer-window
Would prefer Austin tbh - Ings is more of a second striker and we have 2 good ones in Ulloa and Okazaki.
