Lots of really high quality penalties, then Lovren hits one into the stratosphere. Bloody hell.
Really not a great round for English football so far, is it?

Everton look to be going through though, despite having a largely crap season.
Lots of celebrations at Goodison at the moment, as they're winning 2-1 on the night and 6-2 on aggregate and Liverpool are out.

Let's give Everton a lot of cheers. They haven't had much to cheer about this season. Why can't they win the EL?At least they play their first team unlike us......

It hasn't been a great season for English teams in Europe this year, so far. Again. Are our teams just not good enough? Or do we just play too many matches, in too many competitions, handicapped even further by inept fixture planning?

Good luck to them. Hope they win it. They try to play decent football and they're giving it a go, so good on them.

You answered your own question. Just like Newcastle a few seasons back, their squad is too small for domestic and European football, so the latter is causing problems for the former.

Really poor OG puts West Ham 1-0 down at the break and they're lucky it isn't more.
Plenty of time for them to turn it around though, as they really didn't look at it in the first half.

Palace 3-0 up at the Boleyn and it doesn't flatter them. West Ham have been awful, so far. Hangover from their cup final... <whistle>

What is fat Sam gonna whine about after this?
Seems like They aint recovered fromthrowing away a 2 nil lead I their cup final last week

Really stupid red card for Murray. Pushed it all game, so Pardew probably should've pulled him off.
Vague chance for West Ham to nick something now, though it's looking unlikely.

3-1. Game on.
Palace should be well out of sight in this one, but the sending off has let Fat Sam out of jail a bit.
Should make the end of the game interesting.
